He has a great time rubbing his face against the plant and drooling everywhere. The plant in my garden is Nepeta fassenii which has purple flowers rather than the white of Nepeta cataria. I guess the active ingredient is the same. I've got heaps of seed if anyone wants some. I'll even wipe the cat spit off!
