Frankincense contains THC?

well, you learn things everyday. i just found out that frankincense contains a high proportion of THC...the ancient egyptians used it as an analgesic in a similar manner to cannabis.

But how much THC does the oil contain? I cant find it anywhere. Anyone?

hey ph the differences in effects could have been from the other compounds in the material as well, one would have to extract thc from both sources and im sure it would be the same

Its odd, an extreme desire to individualy study each one of those alkaloids. But it'll take me atleast another six years to get to that point... Anybody have any info on them. Or any info on the legallity of growing the plant in aus?

My local nursery has a frankincense plant. Do I have to destroy it to extract the chemicals?

The local university library should have a 'Registry of Toxic Effects of Chemical Substances' somewhere in their chemistry section.

This will help with determining toxicity or lack thereof in most of your common plant chemicals and many non-organic compounds as well.

The infamous James Duke Ethnobotanical databases, found linked to many plant sites with a modicum of scientific understanding will undoubtedly provide much more, although one has to take Mr. Duke with a grain of salt as he often refers to himself as the source of the information in many of his investigations and there is generally no corroboration of his statements elsewhere in the published literature, so one must take his word on faith.

In all my years, I have never heard of there being any THC in francincense. Thujune, perhaps; but no THC.

I know of no method of extracting anything from a plant ewithout destroying that part of the plant upon which the extraction is performed, unless it is tapping sap or some similar substance, in which case tapping (ie; bleeding), not extraction, would be the method employed.

But i will not deny that it does get one high. Much the same way lavender sedates.

Does this not defeat the purpose of executing someone?? i mean, ya dont kill em so ya dont have to deal with em, it is MENT to be a tourture. eg, the firing squad. tie em to a post, shoot the shit out of em and 20 paces, let them collapse and bleed dead. a fireing squad was NEVER ment to kill, death was a side effect of having 20 bullets pass through every organ. Fireing squads never aim for the head but the body. its only after that they will get a bullet in the head if they havnt bled to death yet. If anyone is interested in seeing a fireing squad at work, i have 5 of em on mpeg.

if u find any seed im keen too

same goes for commiphora spp.

it should be fresh as possible

but a source isnt so easy to get

theres that indian place but they sound dodgy
