Limitless, a movie about DMT!!

Recommended Posts

howdy pardners

just saw the movie Limitless, and its all about DMT and psychedelics! I only went to see it cos i knew it straight away from watching the previews on TV, they(the "elite" lol) do this a lot, they hide the truth out in the open, this goes with their theme, but they spin the story with some other bullshit, and along the way, about 30 mins in they take a stab at hallucinogens, lol and their was no need for the stab to occur, because they didnt bag out heroin, crack or cocaine, they went straight to hallucinogens, and they used that word very specifically, not psychedelics, 'hallucinogens', just to devalue it a bit more. The guy was asking himself, "why should i take this, i dont know what it is, it could be a hallucinogen" like thats the worst drug that you could compare it to in that state of the unknown, forget about drugs that are super common, you gotta bag the 'hallucinogens' lol. i love how these people like to fuck with us, we cant even watch a movie without being told subconsciously that were slaves, ignorant, pathetic slaves!

On a side note, i wonder if the cops that are actually reading this shit ever study or try and understand the things that we like to talk about on this site, or are they under the impression that we are just a bunch or drug-fucked hippies(im not a hippy by the way, i hate to be associated with that term, it has a lot of negative attachments in society and id like to fuck it off out of everbodies mindset completley) looking to get high on a supposedly 'love drug'.

love you all, and go fuck yourselves!

That article has nothing to do with dmt or the movie, just a judgemental peice overanalysing certain parts of a MOVIE, which is meant to be dumbed down for dimwits who drink beer every night and smoke cigarettes, im not seeing your point about the article you sent, besides the fact that you may just for some reason, really HATE the movie! You obviously take the writers opinion very seriously!

Enlighten me please! I love to learn!

No need to be so vitriolic, the article qualia linked to was just as enlightening on your original post. In fact, at least after qualia's link I now have a better idea what the movie's about.

Thanks for letting us know about the movie :)

That was a review of the trailer, not the movie. It only gives a better idea of the movie in that i summarises the plot a little. You'd be better off watching the trailer for the thing.

yeah it is not as bad as you make it out to be a typical hollywood plot, with an awesome concept, but an average movie. i didn't see anything "derogatory" about hallucinogens. again awesome concept only if there were such a drug.

Yeah i guess you guys just have to see the movie, sorry for being such a prick, but what i meant to say was that your article had nothing to do with what i wanted this thread to be about, a movie that was made specifically about psychedlics, entheogens, hallucinogens, drugs whatever you want to call it. No offence was intended but you hijacked my thread and got my ego all upset!

Lol, in all seriousness, you really have to watch it to know what i mean, there are so many things they say or do subtley in the movie that make you say, 'yep my cats mum has seen that on dmt'. Quite a good movie too actually, and i cant stand movies these days, but i watched this one knowing that there was an underlying message being told.

Has anyone on here seen it and know what im talking about!?

well thats cool, i thought your second post was funny more than anything,

but if you want a movie about apparent psychedelic experiences you should check out "enter the void",

it's pretty full on visually and apparently feature DMT type visuals, but i suppose the difference between

DMT experience and CGI on a screen is like the difference between getting a root and watching porn

its not that i wanted a movie about psychedelics, or dmt, its that, this movie played in the mainstream, is about the things that we love, just span in mainstream form, ive seen a shitload of movies about ayahauasca and dmt and entheogens, i dont need anymore information on that part, just wanted to talk about this movie, which shoves in our face a story about dmt, just though it was interesting!

and by the way, how do you know i dont like foreplay better than sex!!

I think thats the point teljkon was making - it seems like that to you. To others it may not and to others still it may seem like its about some other drug (to me -i havnt seen the movie- it reminds me more of stimulants).

And i agree with what tel said in that its a sign our culture is changing and people are accepting drug use more (whether thats a good or a bad thing im not too sure though)

I'm pretty sure this movie is based on an excellent book called The Dark Fields.

If so, the drug isn't DMT in it's nature at all. It's not really a psychedelic.

Of course, I have no idea how the movie adaption has been twisted to suit an audience.

I would branch so far as to say. I totaly disagre this movie reminded me nothing of DMT. It reminded me of the false hope of all drugs that some how they, no matter what drugs your talking about, are going to create a perfect world from one that is not perfect. In deed drugs will change your point of view and perhaps change it for the better it can all so do so for the worse. But they wont solve your problems you still managed to do that your self.

I think your confusing that for you DMT has the effect of changing your view point to one where you can experince paradox well enough to understand the world you live in better. So you painted the super smart pills as dmt in your mind. while for others it may be lsd or marajuna that creates the understanding of paradox.

In other words you painted this world in the movie to align to your own rather than take it on as individual piece of art that your not tied to in any way or form.

What really intrests me is that they allowed a movie to be made that interjects the archatype that some positive growth can come from substance use. Its a marker of change in the weave of social fabric that art can express this without being considered counter culture.

Seems the birthing pains are over its time to kick and be fussy babies huh.

well then why were there all these subliminal messages thrown in, like the fact that they ignored all other drugs, and went on to say straight away, "what if its a hallucinogen, and i could have a bad trip and never come out? or the fact that the word 'celestial' is clearly placed at the start of the movie? what other drug could possibly take you to celestial realms!??? it sure aint a super smart drug that can allow you to see the world for what it is!! And the quote, 'i once was blind, but now i see' honestly are you kidding me? I havent read The Dark Fields but now im pretty sure thats about dmt. I could go on and on, but i guess you havent actually used dmt or psychedelics!;)

Dont give me your "ive read a few pages of NLP and think i know what im talking about" rhetoric, you sound like some 21 year old trying to be intelligent. No offence, i just like to point out a shitter for who they are. Ive been through enough bullshit in my life to know how to see through people like you!

rather than take it on as individual piece of art that your not tied to in any way or form

Art! Are you kidding me, since when did movies be considered art!? They are at most a form of ignorant expression that another ignorant may or may not enjoy, i for one liked this movie so im an igorant fuckhead!

Art! Are you kidding me, since when did movies be considered art!?

Movies have been considered art for quite some time, and even if they hadn't been, these days if you say something is art, then it is.

the fact that they ignored all other drugs, and went on to say straight away, "what if its a hallucinogen, and i could have a bad trip and never come out?

Is "hallucinogen" a property only expressed by DMT? I didn't realise it was so specific...

or the fact that the word 'celestial' is clearly placed at the start of the movie? what other drug could possibly take you to celestial realms!?

I'm sure there are others, but perhaps you've heard of a little friend called aya? Or even salvia, depending.

Stop being so opinionated and try to listen to what people are saying to you. Obviously it can be interpreted differently by different people or you wouldn't anyone disagreeing with you. From what I have seen of it that does seem to be the case, but I reserve my judgement on the movie and the drug involved til I have seen it. Which I will do tomorrow, critically.

So far people appear to have been rather reasonable and rational and have been met with irrational anger and frustration. I'm not sure if this is because of something personal, but I think it unwarranted.

I saw this movie the other day and it had absolutely nothing to do with dmt...?? It was likened to cocaine more than anything.

It was an ok movie, but I wouldn't say it was fantastic. That theme has been done to death. I found it a bit uncomfortable to watch, I don't need much reminding of how the cycle of drugs works lol.

lol..

it would be much scarier ingesting an unknown hallucinogenic than a stimulant or a depressant.

I can see the parallels to psychadelics just from the trailer, not DMT specifically but more the fact that he has limitless imagination.

Still, it's made me want to watch it and i'll be trying to find consist themes presented in the movie :)
