0 Evil Genius Posted March 6, 2011 Hi Thomas, Could be some kind of conocybe. But it also could be a galerina. I doubt it will be possible for someone to give a defintive ID without a Sporeprint. bye Eg
0 ballzac Posted March 6, 2011 Looks more like mycena to me.

0 Jamison Schuetz Posted March 11, 2011 seems like you have a genuine psilocybe pelliculosa there, its hallucinogenic and edible I'm pretty sure. Jamison
0 ballzac Posted March 11, 2011 I'm not familiar with that particular species, but that don't look like a psylocybe stem to me
0 LikeAshesWeFade Posted March 13, 2011 (edited) If it doesn't stain blue I would keep walkin dude! Edited March 13, 2011 by LikeAshesWeFade

0 ∂an Posted March 13, 2011 (edited) hello fellows, three questions: Are mushrooms just as likely to grow in horse manure as they are cow manure? What mushroom is this, and Is it edible? http://puu.sh/18jg cheers! cheerio chaps! if they are the ones like this I know around brisbane... they tend to grow in cow manure, usually a good indicator for the right conditions for cubensis, but are more prolific. not sure of the species. not active IME. photo of a cube (bottom left) and this mushroom (top right) growing together: Edited March 13, 2011 by kalika
0 donjuan Posted March 13, 2011 yes kalika, exactly that. thanks! thing is, the dirt in this yard was all hard, red dirt. i found this mushroom in a wheelbarrow of mulch... only one in the yard... but i collected a few of those spiderwebby mushroom babies from the park down the street and "planted" them in various damp logs in the backyard. they started growing too! but a bit of a bummer because i left before i could see them properly fruit. there was a horse stable behind the house (unfortunately no access) as well, wish I could've explored it. anyway, thanks for your input everyone! 0 mutant Posted March 14, 2011 this is dangerous. LBMs are impossible to ID like that.
0 donjuan Posted March 19, 2011 hello everyone, again, can you please help me ID this little fellow? found in the blue mountains, days of (lightly) rainy weather, amongst leaf litter. my new house is set high on a cliffside and has acres of bushland to explore. we've begun to move in and will continue so through this coming week; I can't wait to properly explore. thanks for your help! http://puu.sh/1g5j
0 mutant Posted March 19, 2011 mushrooms are not IDed like this. bad photo too
0 donjuan Posted March 19, 2011 well hi there mr negative vibes. I do apologise for the bad quality photo. rather than solely rattling off what is wrong and not done well, why not enlighten with what should be done next time? treat everybody as both a student and a teacher and life will taste all the sweeter. 0 Bert&Ernie Posted March 19, 2011 tell us what does it smell like what it was growing on and where was it growing what do the gills look like and if u can take a spore print take a pic of that and post it because they are really helpful in id's hope that helps
0 mutant Posted March 20, 2011 well, 0. Read, read, read. then read some more. and read the sticky threads in here. what to notice more next time: 1. gills colour, spore print colour 2. habitat 3. take plenty of photos, from various angles, the gills too 4. take the time to describe the mushroom 5. Read about the lethal lookalikes, f.e. Galerina. Look how similar Galerina looks to the untrained eye. Spot the differences. 6. Read other Iding threadshere and elsewhere. happy hunting and stay safe!
