Guest reville Posted October 10, 2002 Not bad at all. Ive printed one large and one small they look great folded up. Only problem is theyre both too small. To accomodate the zip lock baggies small ones need to be another 3/4 inch longer while the big ones... let me check..make that an inch to accomodate bulky seed. Also for economy you might want to put more on one page alternating even touching- think tetris. Doing that you could get 8 smalls and 4 large to the page in landscape format. On second thoughts the large ones probably dont give you the room you need on the page to make it longer.not sure about that. If you can fix size and economy ill definitely use them. great idea auxin
Auxin Posted October 10, 2002 Ok, I fixed a few errors, put more templates on each page, and put in an extra large plain template that is 25% longer and 25% wider than the large one. As for the zip locks not fitting in the small ones, I originally intended the small ones to be for more sturdy seeds that would not need a zip lock as long as they were to be planted soon after arrival. In fact I made these templates so I wouldn't use up so many zip lock baggies (I mainly trade seeds on Gardenweb.com and most of them use paper packets rather than zip locks anyway so I dont really feel bad about doing it when trading with them.) planthelper Posted October 12, 2002 hi, i like your design, i am an artist too. i like the word i (250 ways of using i in a sentence in japanese) i am an origami master, bla, bla... does your design protect seeds from the AWFULL MAILING MACHINE? this apparatus destroyes seeds unwillingly. alowe space for bubble rapp, not to smoke a popper silly! confused? most people on this forum i would rate as genius, pssst, no more word. VINS Posted October 21, 2002 thank auxine, they look great. plant helper;i have a challenge for you, i am not best at origami but it could be interesting to see how a chief(you) will find some solutions. the best will be a packet which protect the seeds from dammage during trade(without bubble paper), with just on page of paper and the less cut and glue as possible. i tried but the results are more funny than usefull. Guest reville Posted October 22, 2002 Corrugated cardboard. double thickness
VINS Posted October 30, 2002 yes, this kind of cardboard closed with tape, in a letter, could be a solution. but the idea was to find a "folding" with just an ordinary page of paper. this way, when you know it you could make packet everywhere with nothing... usefull for when you are in the wild or in hurry.
