-bijanto- Posted December 10, 2004 Hi everyone. I want to share my happiness here. These pictures were taken shortly after I pruned my M. speciosa tree (you can see the picture of its leaf clippings on the ground). It's really a pleasure to see a four-centimeter plant has been growing to this size for about... 4 years, I guess. "Torsten, do you remember exactly when you sent me the plantlet?" I salute you who has done a noble thing to help a rare species survive. By the way, I want to keep pruning this tree so it will not grow too tall. Any idea on how to do that, folks? I need to learn some pruning techniques here. Here are the pictures: The M. speciosa tree The M. speciosa leaf clippings [ 09. Idplugg Posted December 10, 2004 I wish I lived in a climate that would allow growing a kratom tree. Very well done!
Torsten Posted December 10, 2004 It's great to see our babies grow up To keep the tree bushy and small always remove the main center growth point. Another one will soon take over, so that gets removed the following year.
mr toodly Posted December 10, 2004 Very nice. Many say it is hard to strike a cutting from this plant. I wonder why.

Flip Posted December 10, 2004 I wonder what's the adaptiveness to drier conditions? maybe somewhere like Southern california ? they seem like they might make a nice shade tree in one of the public parks
Rev Posted December 13, 2004 lower humidity yes but dry feet -no i think the problems i had with mine all started with water stress. It was pointed out fto me that my plants developed some nasty lesions from water stress these may have been the entry point for the disease that killed all but
