manitou rolling tobacco

54 posts in this topic

imho opinion this is an entheogenic quality product but i'll leave it to ph to move this thread.

new to my tobacconist,an additive free rolling tobacco from germany.

virtually 100% leaf ,even virtually free of midrib.

looking further it does say chemical additive free.

'like preservatives, humectant agents or synthetic flavours'

it seems totally additive free to me.

comes in a mild or normal strength.

i have the latter.

all my friends love it.

it is tobacco i can feel and it feels real good.a nice glow....even in my lungs!a feeling of goodness!i dont usually get much from commercial tobacco.

have only had 'american spirit' in tailor form, this is similar but better.

a bit dry,cos no additives.

i paid about $22 for 35grams.

if you are going to smoke, smoke the good stuff.....

got mine from a specialist tobacconist but the presentation was as part of their normal tobacconist display range....where they have the stuff you can usually get anywhere.

will keep my eye open to check its availability.

if its hard to get i'll try to sort something out...

wondered why this tobacco was more effective than others.its not really any stronger as such.anyhow snu's book says the stems have 1/3 the nicotine of the leaves.so if this is similar for the midrib and there is no midrib, then you are not smoking filler.

i can put my hand up for the american spirit brand, it is somehow a far more satisfying product.

i mean, instead of chain smoking one cigarett after an other, this tabacco, kept me satisfied for a long time, before feeling the need to smoke again.

sometimes home grown tabacco seems aswell to "last longer" and generaly give the impression to "hit the spot" much better than the store stuff.

that's good news

i've been purchasing american spirit additive free for quite a while, but everywhere i asked said the organic and roll your own varieties were not available in aus

i dont really like tailor filters, so i often break them up and re-roll. a much superior smoke imo, more satisfying. you'll notice they burn slower and go out more easily if you wait too long tween draws also

tried manitou once recently and enjoyed this also

Here is a review from a non smoker-

My flatmate purchased a pack of Manitou. I from time to time maybe a few times a year like to try a rolly. Most of the time i smoke i feel like Ive been poisoned or like im greening out or similar. With the manitou i actually get a warm glow and feel quite nice. This is probably the best affect i have ever had with tobacco. Goes really well in mix too.

I rate this tobacco very highly. Thanks for the heads up :)

domingo is a new additive free tobacco.it is quite moist and the most like traditional rolling tobaccos.many of my rolling friends have changed to it.

the american spirit was disappointing, becoming a bit nasty with time after opening.

however, domingo have a product called hydrostone.a leaf made of terracotta[?].

soak in water for 2 or 3 minutes then stick in with tobacco .had to even out the moisture but it worked very well.

it even made the american spirit better than when new.

That's interesting I wonder if you could do the same with a piece from a terracotta pot, maybe smooth the edges off so it doesn't chew a hole in the bag though.

I also live in Adelaide and would like to try the Domingo type tobacco.

If it is okay can you post the name/address of the tobacconist you get this from ?

While familiar with the Domingo tobacco I was not aware it was additive free. Does this apply to their whole product line or is there one product in particular?

Funnily I was having a discussion with an Irishman the other day who swears that American spirit organic is not really organic, its just a marketing gimmick. "Do some fookin research man" he said, it ain,t natural in it ain,t fookin organic".

Food for thought but a google search does not reveal any evidence of this.

found this:

The makers of American Spirit, Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company, is owned by R.J. Reynolds, the world’s second largest tobacco company (behind Philip Morris), which also owns Camel, Winston, Salem, Kool, Pall Mall, other cigarette brands. Santa Fe operates as a wholly owned, independent subsidiary of RJR.

bali nature is very nice quality product too, from denmark, lol!

claims natural additives only.

the size of terracotta for rehydrating my be important, hydrostone is only about the size of a 20cent piece but twice as thick.only cost 50cents.
