Ephedra Sinica - Sinensis?? & Grwoing Methods

Recommended Posts

Are Ephedra Sinica and Sinensis the same species? (Just updated like lasiandra and tibouchina) or are they seperate?

If seperate which ephedra species has the highest alk level of ephedrine?

Also what is your preferred growing method of ephedra?

"sinica" is just binomial Latin for "from China" or "Chinese" I am pretty sure. "sinensis" is synonymous.

Preferred growing method: neglect.

Agreed 100%. Pampering will more often than not kill these. So go easy on the fert :(

i planted mine out in the ground and it halted all growth for about a year, held on, but not happy. got back into a pot, seems fine with the transfers, and is doing well now. takes care of itself
