apothecary Posted September 15, 2009 http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/09...?section=justin Police in Fiji say they have smashed a drug racket which has been operating out of the country's main international airport. Drug traffickers had been smuggling methamphetamine into New Zealand in bags of powdered kava. Police believe the operation has been operating for many months. The Fiji Times is reporting that three Nadi international airport staff are being questioned and there are suggestions officials from the police airport unit and the immigration department may be involved. Police say the group changed their work rosters so they would be on duty when a particular flight was scheduled to leave. A Fijian citizen was arrested in New Zealand and has been deported to Nadi to face charges.
