Zatar thyme- anyone have it?

Recommended Posts

Am looking for the middle eastern variety of Thyme called Zatar- it's used in the yummy dip.

Apparantly you can also use normal thyme, but if I can get the specific one I shall :)

Friend of mine runs the nursery/ seed company - contact Julie Firth

had 2 varieties last time i was there - one was Zatar farsi and one Zatar marni from Palestine, also had Sumac the red berry (not sure on species, a Rhus sp i expect)in private collection and i asume she'd be selling it if it was making berries

shes also the one with the Purple tomatillos for whoever asked aaaages ago

You mix the Sumac (Tang), Zatar (herby aroma) and sesame seed (nuttyness) with Extra virgin olive oil (fruityness) for the most amazing mix on flat bread.

mmmmmmmmmm

Was in Brisvegas the other day and spoke to a guy in a lebanese shop looking for Mollokhea - a vegatable mallow. Will be getting the seed soon

a very tasty cooked green to go with the bread, Zatar and marinated grilled skewers of lamb and kidneys

mmmmmmmmmmm

shut up rev you are making yourself hungry
