kenny Posted June 16, 2009 I have a sad feeling this is not a funshroom. This is the only one i see growing in the area. I didn't pick it to see if it bruised yet, even if it is active there is only 1 so I may as well let him live undisturbed.
0 TheDudeAbides Posted June 16, 2009 hard to tell but id agree. looking about fury unlike subs
0 gerbil Posted June 16, 2009 Really, when people need a mushroom Id you need to supply better info/pics than that. Too hard to tell with that. Possibly a Stropharia aurantiaca.
0 kenny Posted June 16, 2009 Sorry, if i try zoom any closer it will just be blurry. My camera sucks. Gills white. Stem white, ( feels hollow?) In wood chips under next to an old bath tub which you cant see in the pic. I looked there because it seemed like a nice damp sheltered spot which may offer good humid conditions for fruiting. Got curious and picked it. Stem kinda went a light yellow. Gills went a very light blue, hardy noticeable. So i'll stay with my initial pessimism. If more turn up ill try get better pics. I'm interested in an ID none the less.
0 gerbil Posted June 16, 2009 sounds potentially subbish, should take a print too, but they share alot of characteristics with the aurantiaca.
0 Birdwing Posted June 16, 2009 Def not a sub.........the colour looks wrong.
0 poo Posted June 16, 2009 Looks nothing like it to me... So far off I keep looking at the picture assuming there must be another mushroom there I've missed
0 kenny Posted June 16, 2009 it resembled the one on the right to me. Which is the imposter according to the ID sticky thread, in this forum.

0 TheDudeAbides Posted June 18, 2009 ive seen these around... mostly at tafe amongst losts of wood chips... the caps are more reddy in colour and the stems a bit fury... same shape as subs but not
0 G*P Posted June 18, 2009 This one bruises red/orange, doesn't it? Iv got a whole heaps of these, where I expected subs. Very aggresive coloniser.
0 Evil Genius Posted June 18, 2009 (edited) Kenny, This first Pic looks like you took it from the MIR Spacestation. Please get some better Pics next time because its almost impossible to ID shrooms from pics that dont show things like Gills, Rings, Spore Color, etc...I wouldnt want to give Id´s of potentially deadly shrooms with pics like this one. bye Eg Edited June 18, 2009 by Evil Genius
