Pedro Seeds Anyone

Recommended Posts

Howdy. A number of people have PM'd asking for seeds. That's no worry only i'm not living where the seeds are by a long way atm. I'll be back in Feb I'll look for them then if i can find where they've been hidden i'll send them out. I can't reply to all the PM's coz some are locked. I'll post here later when/if i find the seeds.

Hey folks well after tantra visited my garden and showed me just how easy it is to pollinate trichs, a few months later i now have 1000s and 1000s of pedro seeds. Pretty random job of it, in the mix is PC X Bruce, PC X Sausage Plant, PC X Yowie and Bruce X Sausage Plant. I think it is predominantly the first two so if anyone grows em that's why I would expect.

i was gonna pollinate with some semblance of order but 100s and 100s of bees stole my pollen the bastards i kid you not, barely a grain to work with. will post a pic later of what i mean.So yeah, want random seeds, let me know.

just a update of this random seed batch one i grafted to peres roughly 2 yrs on

ill get a new pic of the graft next to the rest of the seedlings all very healthy with id say 95 % germ of seeds showing some variation of the batch

So yeah, if you want seeds let me know. No trades necessary. All I ask is that in a few years you send a couple of the seedlings back to me. Probably send em out in packs of about 100 tho i won't be counting, pending me getting little plastic bags.

Funny, in December, 1st flowering, there were no bees around. This week, another round of flowering, i was gonna pollinate with some semblance of order but 100s and 100s of bees stole my pollen the bastards i kid you not, barely a grain to work with. will post a pic later of what i mean.

So yeah, want random seeds, let me know.

I would LOVE some random seeds!!! damn you 2009

Bumping very old thread. Just wondering how everyones plants turned out.

First pic, the plant on the right is cut from the plant on the left. I'm assuming its pc x bruce. Very wavy/corrugated ribs, unfortunately I am giving this one back to micromegas soon as per our agreement on the free seeds. Middle plant is from the same batch of seed but looks like plain old pc but still with some corrugations in the ribs. I'm fairly sure the termination is bug damage and not the sausage gene.

Pic 2 is a close up of the plant on the right.

micromegas will be back on the forum soon, so I'm itching to see what crazy crosses the bees have made in the garden. Hopefully a new batch of seed will be doing the rounds

MORE PICS PLEASE! :drool2: Have some going as well but they are still small because i planted one year later. Will check which ones they were. I think one cross was Bruce x Sausage Plant and the other one was something that involved the PC. bye Eg

nice one spacemonk, micro has been busy traveling and learning, and i'm pretty sure will be satisfied with the beauty I'm giving back, no need for little examples. (but thats not for me to say)

I just want to see pics of the other specimens, no matter how big or small.

lessons learned the hard way are the best lessons. the ones we avoid repeating

*edit* also, we might learn from each other, for example, I treat my babies like hydro, and juice them up every week, where others tend to treat them with kid gloves. I'm just trying to find some tek that works for everybody

^that would be one week nutrient, next week seaweed extract..rinse and repeat. One day per week, just water the other days, as required

Size of cacti has few to do with mistakes. Its more about how you grow em and there is no perfect way to do that. One million ways and all lead to rome.

I encluded a pic of the seed batch SAUSAGE PLANT x BRUCE. Started last summer. Didnt lose a seedling in that tray yet so good genetics and general health.

Well worth the bump. Great pics, thanks for sharing.

I learned a lot from these seeds, it was my first attempt at cacti from seed. Great germination rate, but I lost a lot putting them in full sun too quick.

Took a couple of pictures for you EG.

Sausage X Bruce or Bruce X Sausage. I heard from the SAB member who I got these from that there was some confusion with labeling.

5 mo. old Pereskiopsis impale graft on 3 mo. old seedling. Smaller one of the right is off a small pup from the base of the main graft done a 1-2 mo. ago.

Looks very very similar to the one you called that cross EG.

Nice work people. I have about 30 of each variety doing pretty well but looks like a few of you have the green thumb for sure. I like the look of the sausage X bruce in particular. Nicholas this thread was started way back in Feb 2009 so even if there are any seeds left around I'd be hard pressed to know where I have put them... sorry. Plenty of trich seeds around SAB though.

Interesting to see how big a cacti can get from seed in a 3 year period, graft and non-graft, so thanks for posting some pics I'll snap mine some time as well.
