very doubtful subs?

Question

a FOAF sent me these shots of an un ID mushroom.

as far as im concerned there not subs what do you guys reckon?

nope definitely not... looks a bit like a little baby Gymnopilus though maybe. Anyway yeah possibly poisonous

Even if it was an active gymnopilus, I think you'd need hundreds of that size to get any effect. Gymnopilus are very low alkaloid content from what I hear.

I found three of those little babies in the Adelaide Hills earlier this week. Growing out of a tree stump. They certainly smell poisonous!

Yeah as those other guys said:

a) if it was a Gym it wouldn't even do anything for you

B) if it's not a Gym it still could be very poisonous

c) it's almost impossible to identify a baby pin like that

so yeah not worth eating and could still kill you.. you could try and find some adults and se if you can ID them as greening Gyms, but subs it aint. Was it growing out of the side of a tree? subs never do that, and in fact Galerinas do -- deadly deadly horrible death mushrooms -- and that pin could still be a Galerina pin.
