BlackDragon Posted March 12, 2008 Hello all, Just thought you would like to have a look at some beautiful A.confusa ball flowers that have opened in the last few weeks. The tree was planted back in 2002 i believe, and doing very well for its southerly location. Its now about 3 or so meters tall. Bursting flowers: .. and a nice full open flower. BlackDragon Posted March 13, 2008 (edited) Hey hey, Yup its in SA I have a plant up here (northern side) and the pic is from a friends down southside. Plants do very well here tst, they have an amazing capability of re-shooting when injured or burnt, far quicker growth than any other i spp ive grown too. They do need a little more water than most to stay lush - but what doesnt when its this dam hot?!! Ill see if my pal can gather some dryed flowers from the ground. As for seed, im not sure if any pollen will still be viable in this extreme heat, it may or not survive in this weather. Also not sure if pollinating insects are around the place either. BlackDragon Posted March 14, 2008 Yeah its the first year flowering. I assume the first flowers are a sign that the plant has reached maturity?
