Can anyone help with opinions on this print?

Question

Hi fellow shroomers,

Just wondering what anyone else makes of this print. Would this be classified as "purple brown"? The print is off what I think is a sub, complete with plenty of blue staining on the stem. Unfortunately, I didn't get any photos of it before printing, only the upturned cap after the deed was done.

Any help in identifying the species from this sketchy information would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Muscaria

Print appears to me as black, but its hard to tell

One would also expect to see more bruising on the cap, especially on the gills seeing that they appear to have a bit of damage?

But that is pretty sketchy at best :)

I have heard print can darken with age... so maybe that is what has happened. Poor pic of shroom, so ID is next to impossible.

Thanks for the first replies...

Here are some more pics of the whole beasties. Hopefully it will assist with a better ID. It's hard to see in the pics, but there is very distinct blue bruising on the stems. There doesn't appear to be any brown spore "dust" on the shrooms either, although it appears like there is in at least one of the photos. As you can see, they were already a bit past their prime when found... but looking to a future meeting at the same spot if they're actually what I believe they are. Of course, I wouldn't want any kiddies to pick or eat them, so I'd make sure they were removed in the interests of public safety.

Sorry about the bad focus too! As you can see, it wasn't a good day in the history of mycological photography :scratchhead:

Thanks Passive Daemon. I'll be keeping close watch after the East Coast's current "big rain" to see what springs up! Hopefully I'll then be able to confirm the ID and ensure they get don't used inappropriately.
