Andrew Posted August 30, 2002 I have about eight rooted catha cuttings that have had roots for six months or so for trade or sale. They are from Torstens red leaf variety which has been growing outside for a few years now and seems to be unaffected by the cold except that it grows a bit slower in winter. We get frost where I live but I live across the road from the beach so its probably not a proper frost at my house. planthelper Posted October 12, 2002 re, tst, hi, all i was down and out for a little while, because some of my plants must have gone walkabout, bla, bla... hope u find me last e-mail satisf. but tragedy plus time is comedy. so, good news today i harverested my first white (broadleaved catha var.) seeds. out of the first 3 pods that opend allready i got only one seed worthwhile keeping for planting, but what a BIG seed it is! here me addy again with full name... wolfgang pachner po box 1220 byron bay 2481 nsw 5 aus get you seeds.(porto included) 5 aus plus 3 aus worth of stamps get a small red or white.(broadleaved catha) 20 aus (porto included) gets you a narroleaved catha edulis. advanced plants avail. too. CATHA EDULIS is a wonderfull plant. a: its a perfect bronchial medicine, a throat clearer. b: its a very likely candidat for beeing the BIBLICAL burning bush, yes, moses was a qat user. c:speed, meth cath (ice),mdma, cocaine and prescription drugs can be self= harming at times. catha edulis provides here a healthy and organic alternative! one more thing, its ok to grow ( as an ornamental)by law, but not to use. john_barleycorn (just to sound like a pro), your pacel has been sent off. dont worry be happy, wolf
Torsten Posted October 12, 2002 hey planthelper, I saw fractal's narrow leaved seedlings he grew from your seed..... however they don't look narrowleaved. Are narrowleaved juveniles broadleaved?? Have you ever grown narrowleaved from seed?

planthelper Posted October 13, 2002 re, yes, torsten (seedling)juvenile leaves of the narroleaved kind are pretty broad! those seeds are 100% only narroleaved genetics.long time ago i wrote to you: narroleaved qat can produce broad leaves if rejuvinated, a must to be able to strike cuttings. now all those seedlings because displaying inmature broad leaves will be super easy cuttings. its the same thing like with say many eucalyptus 3 different leave shapes on one tree- only groth of juvenil shapes will be able to strike cuttings. about moses, well this is only my idea, but the old testament sounds more like catha overdose than any other plant. only catha quenches the thirst in the dessert...and somewhere i read catha is the bush that can selfignite.so which other bushes burn?
