hi hi buds, After reading the 'fire starting thread', i realised(like many of my fellow sab members did ) that bush survival is an often covered topic but rarely does it incorporate the sab style element. By this i mean, there's heaps of bush survival advice out there but it would be fantasmagorical if we could pool together our collective ethno consciousness and gather some information on surviving in the bush - 'sab style'. Let me extrapolate further. This forum has some beautiful ethnominds you people are infinitely , way more interesting than the average forum users out there. Why not utilize such knowledge and apply it practically to surviving in the bush by using tips, tricks, advice etc but with a sab spin to it. Examples of ethno survival skills could be rudimentary (such as Ph's suggestion of alway's carry heaps of h20) but i would love to hear member's more obscure ways of surviving using bush food, plants, berries, natures medicines, whacked out ethno tricks etc etc................man the list could go on on. Maybe, even add geographical information , for example, describe a certain regions terrain and then follow it up with some advice for traversing said area. So in essence, compiling a list of problem and answers to surviving in the bush could incorporate how to get unbogged in your 4bee or repairing a flat on the front tyre of your trial bike or how to alleviate insect bites with a certain leaf or how to strap up a broken limb, perhaps how to orientate your self by the stars to trek out of the wilderness or what's an easily found pain reliever .......get my drift. I'm rambling abit now but basically it would be really interesting to hear a wide variety of responses that embrace the sab ethos - whatever way you interpret that........heehee. The knowledge base in this forum is deep why not draw water from it's well in all it's forms. thanks for reading
