  1. Hi everyone, I recently found out that mum has some Mugwort growing in her garden. She apparently grows it to keep parasites away from the chickens, and I'm interested in its medicinal value. Looking at the leaf structure, there seems to be two varieties - so I have a few questions.. 1. Are all Mugwort/Wormwood varieties medicinally identical? I am interested in exploring this herb as a dream enhancer. I've also promised some to a friend who makes it into a tea.. but I'd hate to give him an ineffective variety (or worse, one that could make him sick). If there are big differences between varieties.. 2. Would anyone be able to ID these plants? My guesstimation from Google searching is that they both look like Artemisia Absinthium / common wormwood. papaver somniferum

Hey Guys, If one was to purchase any of the papaver somniferum seeds available here, would one be able to make opium tea from the poppy that is grown? Or is there a speicifc varitiey of papaver somniferum that you need for this that has any decent level of the required alkaloid? I appreciate its illegal to grow poppy for non floral reasons and I of course would never knowingly break the law. This is purely for research and educational reasons. To save incrimination, by all means send me a private message. Thanks Sante
  3. Hi all, I'm trying to find a tea bush to start my own little tea plantation. I've been scouring the markets and trying to get nurseries to order me one but so far no luck, I thought maybe someone here could help me out? I have a little to trade, but will happily pay for the privilege. Have a great day
  4. Mitragyna speciosa (Kratom) extracts have been popular around the world for some time. I have searched the forum and read around and I am having trouble finding clear instructions on the best way to get the most out of this product. I have recently been given the opportunity to bio essay and am waiting for the arrival a 15g batch of 20:1 extract to arrive at my holiday destination. I have a high opiate/opioid tolerance both natural and developed. I have found that using DXM lowers this threshold but not considerably. I am interested in getting the lovely effect I get from a range of opiates and opioids from kratom. I am interested in higher range experiences. I have read methods ranging from chews to teas and also smoking. Can we propagate this thread with peoples techniques and suggestions for getting the most out of these extracts with 20:1 ratio or similar. From what I can tell a good strong dose of this extract is 1 to 2g. So what ways should I try to ingest. Would also like comments on things that may potentate the experience. Do the same potentiators as with opiates prove to be effective. Things like Anti-Histamines, Grapefruit Juice, Benzos etc. Thanks for the advice, sorry if it has been covered but I thought a thread that was less discussion and more reports on how to get the most out of the experience and detailed methods of preparation and ingestion . Sly
  5. So last year I was studying S. miltiorrhiza and S. przewalskii ('sha-vahl-ski-eye', that took me an hour to figure out). To summarize their pharmacognostic utility, the root is a tonic that improves peripheral and coronary circulation and works to slow or reverse cardiovascular disease. Theyve got two groups of goodies, Tashinones (lipophilic) and the Salvianolic acids (hydrophilic). The tashinones do some of the circulation improving stuff and the salvianolic acids are nifty antioxidants that reduce LDL oxidizability and similar antioxidant stuff. Now, traditionally its only the root thats used but I like to squeeze plants for all their worth so I also researched the leaves. They lack the tashinones but have the salvianolic acids in fair quantity. I couldnt find a trace of evidence that anyone had ever ate or drank the leaf, just speculations that the leaf 'waste' could be refined into drugs. But theyre Salvias so I figured I wouldnt die from a tea, it just might taste bad, and I went ahead and planted some S. miltiorrhiza seeds. So, yeah, now the point. The tea was good! Like seriously, it smelled and tasted like a broadleaf spice sage variety of some kind. A fairly well known medicinal herb whos foliage could be expected to at least be edible, and is related to spice and tea herbs, and apparently no one in history had ever tried it. I got suspicious and dug up a plant, and I'll be damned, it had the unusual red taproots of S. miltiorrhiza and S. przewalskii. I guess I got an authentic batch of seeds. Has anyone else tried it? If you have a plant rub a leaf, if it smells like sage give it a go. It mixes well with dried lemon balm for an unsweetened tea or will make a cuppa coffee all masculine and stuff.
