    Transporting cacti seedlings

Hey all! I'm moving from NSW to the ACT and of course im taking my cacti seedlings with me. The room they are moving to is south facing and they have access to sun all day (They are currently taking off in a surprisingly shady part of the garden) Any tips to help the little guys take off in the new climate indoors? Most of them are still in take away boxes and doing better than ever a few monstrose too :D Thanks so much - you may have just saved 400 cacti

I'd love to buy some seedlings/cuts/rooted plants if possible. I don't really have anything ready for trade yet but have just sown about 1500 seeds and over 40 different hybrids so will have plenty in the near future . Any help would be much appreciated!

  14. Hey Guys, I would like to obtain a Barbados Gooseberry (Pereskia Aculeata) cactus, is there anyone in Australia or preferably WA who would be willing to sell me either seeds or cuttings of this plant? The plant is not considered a pest in WA so I don't understand why it is so difficult to obtain here. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
  15. Would love to swap but I don't have the most established collection, chopped up a big T.spach (I think) so happy to part with that. Otherwise I have Haworthia or cash haha. Thanks everyone.

    Identification required

Greetings all. Over the past few days council workers are doing some drainage work and have detoured local traffic such that I was required to drive down a local street that I don't normally use. In doing so I saw some amazing cactii growing and took a couple of pics for identification purposes. Can anyone here help me id there please. Apart from a few lophs on my windowsill, I'm pretty ignorant of cactii. Cheers, Sam <3
  17. Hello everyone, A friend of mine overseas sent me these pictures of degrafted and rooted lophophoras which he bought for an amazing price (around 25 bucks each?). I was rather suspicious since it sounds too good to be true so decided to ask if these are just some of the more common lookalikes out there. The three heads in the photo are approximately 6 cm each and the one with the roots is around 5 cm. The ribs are clearly defined but these do not look like any of the classic williamsii's I have seen on the web so far. Unfortunately I don't own any so I can't compare. Any of you guys know if this is a particular variation of williamsii or another species altogether? Thanks in advance!

  23. Never got an ID on this guy. Methinks stenocereus of some sort... Any help is appreciated.
  24. Today I sowed my first seeds. I purchased them from SAB as Ech. Lageniformis x Ech. Peruviana 'KK1688' and sowed 12. I used a cactus soil mixed with about 50% perlite. Unfortunately the perlite wasn't as coarse as I would have liked. I then mixed and added some water before sterilising in the oven (100C) for 20 minutes. I purchased a small seed germinating box which should help increase humidity with spraying. I added my soil mixture to each of the 12 sections and then bathed the base in water before putting the potted area into the bottom covering. Next came the most exciting sowing. I sowed the seeds by just placing one in each section and then lightly misting before covering the germination box. I have sat it outside but out of direct sunlight. I may consider changing its position depending on temperature and sun. I still have enough seed to retry if I fail. Any advice welcome. I am very excited.
  25. I have some more of my seed grown cactus for sale. Price is 50c/cm, postage is $18 to anywhere on mainland Australia only. PayPal gift preferred. I have more that I'll add over the next couple of weeks. edit because I forgot to mention - the pach x super Pedro looks more like a Cuzco. I continue to call it pach x super Pedro because that's how the seeds were labeled.
