Every time I look at my P.nexus plants lately I really appreciate the value of them but I can't help thinking that the job has only been half done. To my way of thinking if the plant had been back crossed with the viridis the full potential of the viridis could be attained as far as alkaloids go. If it had the cold tolerance of a carth then it would be a much desired plant. If two separate crosses were done from the same parents with one line being bread for size & cold tolerance and another line bred specifically for alkaloid content and the two lines crossed when the traits were fixed a plant could be produced that could have enormous potential. Most likely two separate lines would not need to be started, it's just that two separate lines would make it easier to fix specific traits and not rely on as much luck. I'd love to do this myself, but I don't have an environment that a viridis will thrive in so it's all just a pie in the sky really.

So i grew around 100 ss02 x bridgesii seedlings out and ended up with around 40 left after some foolish descisions. I have ended up with this little cutie looking quite a bit different to the rest. It has formed a little globe on the top with spines coming out any which way whereas the rest have continued to grow in a columnar fashion from the get go. I will attach pics of a regular one and the freak for you to chec out. By the way the dome is swelling i am hoping it might actually crest or something as it isn't growing up but rather out or else maybe it got damaged on the tip or something? hoping one of the members on here might be able to help me figure it out. Originally i thought it was just a slower developer but as it now doesn't seem to want to grow up like the rest i am hoping for a mutant. It may be wishful thinking but meh. here is the regular ss02 x Bridgesii seedling showing typical growth traits of all the rest These are the one that has shown odd growth pretty much from the start.

I am looking for some brugmansia pollen to try and hybridise some of my pure species as well as to further work on the hybrid i currently have. I would idelaly like a pink, peach, or similar brightly colored cultivar if possible. At present the planned first run of hybrids will be (Brugmansia Aurea 'yellow' x Brugmansia Suavolens) x Brugmansia Aurea 'White' (Brugmansia Aurea 'yellow' x Brugmansia Suavolens) x Brugmansia Candida 'Single White' Brugmansia Aurea 'White' x Brugmansia Candida Brugmansia Aurea 'Yellow' x (Brugmansia Aurea 'yellow' x Brugmansia Suavolens) I would like to add a few extras in there if someone could sell, trade or donate me some pollen. I wont need it for around 1-2 weeks so no real rush.
