Transcendent Compounds: Win with the Victorian Government and request for assistance.
Undercover Hippie replied to GregKasarik's topic in Legal Matters
Sorry, not exactly what you’re asking for - but it may help with the context and be useful because of its recent publication date... From this recent (2011-1) issue of Acta Medical Bulgarica published by the Medical University of Sofia (Bulgaria): PSYCHOACTIVE SUBSTANCES IN DIFFERENT CULTURES AND RELIGIOUS PRACTICES http://www.medun.aca...html#abstract16 J. Radenkova(1), E. Saeva(2) and V. Saev(2) (1)Toxicology Clinic, Emergency Medicine Institute “N. I. P irogov” – Sofia (2)University “La Sapienza” – Rome Summary. Many drugs are used for their mood and perception change effects, including those with accepted uses in medicine and psychiatry. There is archaeological evidence for the use of psychoactive substances dating back at least 10 000 years, as well as historical data for cultural purposes in the last 5000 years. Some psychoactives, particularly hallucinogens, have been used for religious purposes since prehistoric times. Examples of traditional entheogens include: kykeon, ambrosia, iboga, soma, peyote, ayahuasca. Other traditional entheogens include cannabis, ethanol, ergine, psilocybe mushrooms, opium. Although entheogens are taboo and most of them are officially banned in Christian and Islamic societies, their ubiquity and importance in terms of different spiritual traditions of other cultures is unquestioned. Key words: psychoactive substances, drugs, entheogens, hallucinogens PS What kind of time frame are you looking to collect these things in? Pages from acta-medica-1-11.pdf -

I respect your passion and determination. There are many ways to view every situation and what may be viewed as “realistic” by some could simply be “already defeated” by others. I don’t think fears of an authoritarian backlash are unfounded, but there is a line they cross on their path to paranoia – pinpointing that line is the hard part. The themes surrounding this issue could be discussed for eternity, however I must add in closing that social taboos are not defined by legislation and there are many perfectly legal things you could do on the weekend that would warrant the same Monday morning response. Even in the ideal world where legislative change did take place, culturally the same post-weekend response may still be necessary – it would not mean that your workmates and superiors would be nonchalant about your choice of religious or recreational activities. Again I wish you the best of luck, sincerely - disregard any opposing views, including mine, because society does need more people like yourself. Just ensure a conscious effort not to cause more harm than good whilst travelling your path... -

You may be right about the Victorian Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities - I have no idea - but that doesn't guarantee change. I don't think these things are as tucked away into the undergrowth as you make out - obviously you, I and many others here have had exposure to such things; as proven by our presence here. It is all there for the willing, and not necessarily applicable to the masses in any case. We will talk more if you make the change you hope for; until then I wish you the best of luck and I'll be happy to eat my words one day. However in the reality of the system we live in I personally don't see that happening from the actions you describe. But once again good luck. -

I'm no hater but sometimes you've got to call it for what it is... +1 +1 However, this is not an encouragement to go ahead and do it. http://www.alternet.org/drugs/147183/leading_uk_drug_reform_groups_push_ahead_with_blueprints_for_legalization/ Two UK based organizations are charting a course through the miasma of international drug policy by publishing detailed road maps for comprehensive legalization. Thanks Michael - noted for next time I lose track of my ends, and that will definitely happen ! And I just have to ask - so if I plant these suckers upside down they will just keep growing, root from the "top" and just carry on their way? Or do they go about it some other way... Cheers
-
Thanks guys. And thanks for the pics ballzac - that really helped I'm off to stand these suckers up

Hi people, I've got these two chunks of cactus and as they are both mids I don't know which way is which. Was going to side root them but I changed my mind so if anyone could help that would be great! Cheers This one: And this one: EDIT: One last question - typically I try and root with as little of the cactus under the soil line as possible, most of the time just placed on top of the soil. This has worked for me in the past but lately not so much. Long story short - is it best to cover a few areolas to assist the rooting process?

Here's a real quick run down: Can't be bought and sold, can be possessed and brought back into the country - I think on a technical level you need a prescription, but they certainly don't check for those when bringing it back into the country. It all stems from John Howard's Aboriginal intervention in 2007 when it was stated it was being abused in such communities, therefore it was regulated. Doesn't make sense, nothing they do does. Don't try and make sense of it - it is what it is. For your average Joe who goes on a holiday, feel free to bring some back with you, you won't get into any trouble as it stands. As for specific state laws I've got no idea, and I only say that cause I read a sentence somewhere once that said it was totally prohibited in WA.
