Roksolid: 43% Silica + many many other beneficial elements for cacti.
_Cursive posted a topic in Cacti & Succulents
Roksolid is THE BEST slow release fertilizer I have ever used for my cacti. It is a form of rock dust I believe. For NZ'ers (This site isn't cheap, you can find it cheaper elsewhere but it has all the necessary info): http://www.0800466464.co.nz/plant-nutrition/60-wallys-rok-solid-1-kg.html Constituents of it are: Analysis of Rok Solid (Averages) Nitrogen [N] .15% Phosphorus [P] .8% Potassium {k} 1.4% Sulphur .14% Calcium [Ca] 4.4% Magnesium [Mg] 5.69% Sodium [Na] 2.95% Silica [si] 43.0% Iron [Fe] 39,000ppm Manganese [Mn] 1,100ppm Boron 55ppm Copper [Cu] 90ppm Zinc [Zn] 142ppm Cobalt [Co] 59ppm Molybdenum [Mo] 2ppm Selenium [se] 3ppm Plus many other trace elements. 43% Silica! You HAVE to see how healthy all my cacti and plants are because of this. Silica plays a vital role in cell development and water retention. http://www.innovationsinagriculture.com/CMSFiles/Gallery/Files/Exhibitor/1/Roles%20of%20Si%20-%20email.pdf -

Should I have seen more growth?
_Cursive replied to Idon'tstudydinosaurs's topic in Cacti & Succulents
- Have you changed your potting mix within the last 3 years? - If not, that will be why. Bare root it and wash the roots. I notice that if the cacti are lacking in good nutritious growing medium, they will stall. - If you have changed the growing medium, take the pot and stand it in warm water for a few hours to allow it to get maximum water absorption. - Fertilize with a low Nitrogen based fertilizer. Seaweed is high in N. -

BE AWARE: I placed an order with Kaktusy.cz well over a month ago now [17th November], and I have not received anything. I have tried to get in touch via Email and all I get is an automated response, "Received OK, thanks". The order was very expensive and now I am in the process of a dispute with Paypal. I have not received anything from customs either. I will update if the order comes through and retract if necessary. Just be aware. PS. Has anyone else had trouble from them in the past? I heard they were legitimate, that's why I placed an order through them.

Not a problem my fellow SA'er! Peace to ya!

I wasn't trying to be a dick. I was merely correcting a potentially serious situation, if administered, to somebody's cat. The Garlic proposal to a feline alerted me to the lack of research done, as if you had you wouldn't have posted it, right? ALL veterinarians in my past and present have told me garlic is dangerous to dogs and cats. I haven't just copied and pasted it, I checked multiple sources to verify the info, then copied and pasted it. - Look the chances of them ACTUALLY eating it on their own, is slim I would say, due to the pungent aroma of the Allium Sp. The administration of it via an outside source (the owner) would have severe consequences to said animal. Don't worry, this is not a personal attack Peace!
-
WOAH! Garlic is EXTREMELY TOXIC to cats and dogs!! PLEASE don't play holistic/alternative veterinarian. THAT suggestion of garlic tells me that you don't have any idea what you're talking about and could have killed his cat. Peace.

You're right; all it would take for me is a non-automated response to keep me happy. I have not dealt with this company before, hence my concerns. I received that email after a few days with the purchase order # and cost totalled. Paid them, so no problem in that department (I just double checked). From what I have gathered they are just EXTREMELY slack, so I will wait. Thanks for all the info guys! I will keep this updated Thanks again! Peace
