    Montezumas Chocolate Recipe

Well the most expensive chocolate is Noka Chocolate, reported to be $2080/lb in small doses. They buy widely-available chocolate and remold it at up to a 6,956% markup. http://boingboing.net/2006/12/27/chocolateobsessed_bl.html http://www.dallasfood.org/modules.php?name...icle&sid=78 So I would avoid them as a source of good quality cocoa!

  5. Perhaps we should look at putting our buildings underground, and learn how to build our cities underground, while it would cot so much more to setup, it would also be so much better for controlling the inside temperatures.
  6. whew boy its been a long time since Ive logged in. Anyway according to todays news update, http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/inde...f=6&t=12573 Cresta Lodge, in the heart of Mount Buffalo National Park, has been destroyed by fire. DSE incident controller Rob Caddell said fire investigators were examining how the fire broke through containment lines and structural firefighters were being sent in to protect the park's chalet. "We were doing a bit of burning around the lodge yesterday, so we had containment lines around it and didn't report any major activity in the area, now all of a sudden we've got a fire in the lodge and the crews we had up there weren't trained to deal with a structural fire," he said. "Now we are putting in plans to put structural firefighters up at the chalet so we don't have another building going up that we can't deal with. "We'll have to have a look at the control line that was put in to see how good that was." The lodge at Cresta Valley consisted of the Cresta Day Visitor Centre, a restaurant and a motel, all of which have been lost. All ski infrastructure including the five ski lifts and associated buildings are undamaged. The fire has been contained to the lodge area. The DSE and CFA are continuing to monitor the situation, carrying out asset protection to ensure the remaining assets, including the Mount Buffalo Chalet, are protected. The fire is burning at the southern end of the Mount Buffalo National Park and on the southern slopes adjacent to the Buffalo River and Buckland Valley. The Bright-Tawonga Gap fire continues to burn strongly, with firefighting being hampered by the largely inaccessible terrain. Parks Victoria chief executive Mark Stone said he was disappointed to hear of the loss. Mr Stone said the lodge had provided a unique family environment that many families had enjoyed over several decades. He said Parks Victoria would work with the tenant to review the operation after the fires were extinguished.

  13. Hi Torsten, According to D. F. Austin & Z. Huáman. 1996. A synopsis of Ipomoea (Convolvulaceae) in the Americas. In: Taxon 45:12. (im using the GRIN database) Ipomoea macrantha is a synonym of Ipomoea violacea L. in some databases such as PIER and GRIN and macrantha is a native of Australia, but Australian herbariums still list it as a seperate species. So what is going on there I have no idea. And yes, GRIN has I. tricolor as a seperate species (and in seperate Sections as well).

Safe mozzie killer to add to water

here's a map from Calm of all WA Utricularia Utricularia species from WA (quite a few) http://tinyurl.com/9wjh8 and reposting the map of U. gibba (Im using photobucket now and on Weedy, would you consider something weedy if it was native but its predator/s had been eliminated, allowing vigourous growth? Or some other change in the environment that allowed rapid growth such as increased nutrients etc.

    Sparrow's death shocks a nation

Even more when its at the expense of the environment! When an animal does overpopulate its environment and degrades the environment, in the worse case it may need to be culled or do something to favour the preditors . People have an autoculling process called wars and bird flu disease that help bring down the population back into a sustainable amount.

Safe mozzie killer to add to water

Dont know why you'ld consider weedy Utricularia as a problem, as there are many species of Bladderworts/Fairy Aprons that are native, and weedy (vigourous growth) would be great for controlling mozzies. and here's a locality map of Utricularia gibba

    indigenous opioid bark

Hi Torsten Did you check this? http://www.griffith.edu.au/er/gazette/pdf/gaz04_aug.pdf The project involves evaluating the analgesic activity of several novel natural products which have been isolated from the Barringtonia acutangula plant – a mangrove found in northern Australia, Asia and eastern Africa. Professor Quinn said many species of Barringtonia had been used as traditional medicines.
  20. I would have thought it is ok for people under 18 to drink alcohol as long as its under parental supervision, and I was just reading about that in SMH, where it is critisised for contribute to binge drinking. http://smh.com.au/news/health/allowing-chi...1211949439.html "Giving a child a glass of wine or beer over dinner may contribute to binge drinking, new research suggests."

    Tribulus terrestris

Extensive studies on the isozyme variation within T. terrestris across Australia has found that the populations from southern Australia are introduced but the populations from northern Western Australia are possibly native. So while you can restrict natives, its less likely, but somebody might know more. And what has been regarded as T. terrestris from Queensland and Northern Territory is likely to be a new species.
