I have never heard or read of cerues Bridgesii... If like Ramon says it has fat ribs.... and long spines.... chances are that it is a mislabled tricho-cerues Bridgesii. I would take a good look at pics from a few websites , before buying! compare cerues and trichocerues , and you will easily spot the difference.

Ramon that's 100grms trich peruv for 2 hypothetical people right!??????? fresh hypothetical cactus.... 200grms of the potent T peruv per person should be more than plenty for a good strong trip. I would not eat it all at once though( again hypothetically speaking) I am glad that this is all hypothetical.... I mean who in his right mind would dare poison himself with cactus chemicals that produces mental and visual alterations of his perception! Trichochecereus bridgesii problems...
woof woof woof replied to eccles's topic in Cacti & Succulents
Funny thing.... I bought two Tr Patchanoi in holland a couple of years back.... I hAve thaken many cuttings from the two and replanted them.... Some of the cuttings have longer spines than the original cacti that they were taken from... most of my pachanoi spines are only a cm long or shorter... the mutated cuttings hace spines of almost 5 cm. -

Waterdragon, you mean working on farms... fruitpicking etc etc... sounds like fun.. But when I do get to Oz , fruitpicking is not what I really wan't to be doing If I get crazy enough, I'll quit my job and swing by for a couple of months.... My problem is that I have a reasonably good job right now... got no finished education etc etc. And I am planning on setting up my own little business here. If I do not manage to get it all set up in a year or two..... the first thing I'll do is to drop by in Oz Or if I win a lotery.... I'll come by sooner!

Aloe Vera and Brabadensis , grow wild here. there used to be large plantations here on the island, there is still one , who does allot of exporting of aloe Vera gel to the US It's probably a big hassle to export them to Oz with the CITES paperwork and fees. but if there is a substantial ammount that needs to be supplied....do not hessitate to contact me.

That was not form ingesting Datura but from a small (very small) piece of space cake given to me..... Smoking datura leaves is indeed nice combined with M. On itself Datura...or preferably Brugmansia leaves are a very nice smoke...

Ramon is right.... If It rains more than 3 days I just cover my lophophoras, my pedros I leave them in the rain for an entire week or more... no problem. (*depending on the amount of sunshine they recieve)

The dog should be fine... The indians in SOuth A.... give their dogs ayahuasca or yopo...cannot remeber.....could even be Virola resin... but anyway , they do that to make better hunters of their dogs... A guy from Peru told me once .... that Sanpedro protects them... i figure that Peyote should do the same for humans and for dogs... hey.... the dog has been blessed by Peyotol!

Drying cactus ... is done best in the sun... hmmmmm if youlive climate with plenty of sun , then find a big flat black rock.... one that absorbs lots of sun heat.... and also a big piece of gauze or net to cover the entire rock....... I don't think that a little rain will be problematic. If that is the case.. maybe a piece of glass should the trick then. be aware that there are animals that love pieces of drying cactus.... "firsthand experience" I never caught anything doining it , but I suspect the birds and lizards to be the troublemakers. I think they that tend to investigate what the hell that green stuff is... they pick and scratch it over here. sometimes pieces tend to dissapear. On the other hand if you do not live in a hot and sunny climate ....or if it's winter... then you might want to opt for an OVEN.... ... but slice 2cm thick cross sections... like cookies... put them on an oven baking tray.... 200 deg Celcius... for an hour .... but do inspect your cookies every half hour! or i.ow just keep a close eye on your cookies.

Feeding shrooms to your dog! REminds me of my younger years... he he he ...getting the dog(s) stoned... Some of them loved it and came back for more. --------------------------------------------- But no serious... I read that the south american indians give YOPO and Ayahuasca to their dogs... so that they will hunt better! ---------------------------------------------

http://forums.spiritplants.com/ikonboard.c...ct=ST;f=2;t=337 There is some nice info on Viridis cultivation if you follow the given link above....... In case the link does not work... go to spiritplants.com>Forum>Plants>Rainforest>Psychotria Viridis growing conditions.
-
The Viridis that I grew from leaf cuttings are doing quite well... I put them in a soilmixture of regulAR potting mix with some sharp sand...... (an easy plant to cultivate from cuttings, just gotto keep the humidity high) I do not use rooting hormone... just put the leaf in the ground and put a clear glass pot over the leaf.... make sure it encloses it entirly...and that water can wet the soil between the glass jar and the pot. They say that if you break the leafs main stem..... or cut the top part of the leaf (wich you can also plant again).... The cutting will then sprout where the leafstem was broken or cut....
-
I already have a few Viridis plants , but they are all from the same stock....

Me too!

A shaman....is a person that has a good connection/understanding with/of the spirit world/universal consciousness. He can therefore acces the other dimentions....either to cure or to curse, control/influence the elements. Some use plants ,others just need a drum or a simple act of will to vist the spirit world. This is my understanding of what a shaman is.
