    Brugmansia Beauties

lol @ yerba diablo. I can assure you i'm no diablo, I'm more of a yerbaphile Look forward to catching up with you to my friend. I'm doing ok. Hope all is well with you to. yeah gotta love going for a walk outside in the evening and then you just get hit by this amazing scent. Its also interesting how it seems to flower non stop with always a few flowers on at any one time while the other brugmansias seem to flower in big bursts of flowers.

    Brugmansia Beauties

Gotta love the scent of brugs and how they seem to flower non-stop throughout the year. Each species has a unique scent. The species arborea smells like vanilla, what a beauty. Here is some pics of the flowers and pods (it is self pollinating).

    Brugmansia Beauties

Nice plants Kenny. I love my brugs also. Apart from orchids and cacti they are one of my favourite flowering plants. Here is a lsit of what i have in my garden. I'll get pics soon. Brugmansia candida 'white' and 'peach' and 'double white', Brugmansia insignis 'yellow', Brugmansia aurea hybrd 'tantra', Brugmansia suaveolans 'white', Bugmansia versicolor 'peach', Brugmansia arborea, Brugmansia culebra and a few crosses i've made myself, most of which got chopped down because they weren't anything special but still got a couple outstanding plants that i kept. The arborea is self pollinating but another interesting thing is my brugmansia tantra also tends to be setting pods without my assistance. I think it is getting pollinated by the white suaveolans growing next to it. Not sure what is pollinating it but i'm assuming it is bees as i see lots of bees in the flowers. you've got that right, mine looks very sad indeed. I don't think i'll bother with this species here in the subtropics . It hates hot humid tropical climates. It does well in winter but as soon as summer arives, bang. It goes backwards and sttuggles. If really loves cooler areas and tolerates lots of cold compared to others. happy growing all

If anyone is interested in trading for seeds let me know. I do have a couple of smaller red catha that i could sell or trade. What have you got up for trade? peace

    Khat dosages

You need the nice soft tips of the twigs and just stuff as many as you can fit into the side of your cheek. Chew at a nice slow rate letting the juices remain in the mouth in between chews before swallowing. At first i didn't notice much either but now i can recognise the effects. I often find myself more talkative, slightly contemplative and loss of fatigue with a slight sense of well being.

A different way to grow Brug

nicely grown brug. Brugs are one of my favourite flowering plants along with orchids and cacti. I hope you dont mind me adding a few pics of what i have flowering at the moment. Here is one of my hybrids along with a white suaveolans. peace
  10. AFOAF told me that you can get viable seeds from Salvia divinorum by handpollinating the flowers. Remove the anthers from one flower and place some pollen on the stigma with a pair of tweezers. Most of the seeds wont be viable but a few develop embryos and can germinate. The best way is to have some large established plants with lots of flowers to increase the chances of getting some viable seeds.
  11. Got some Theobroma cocoa plants if anyone is interested. Large well established potted plants. Brisbane pick up only.
  12. you might wanna check out this site teo, has a bit of info http://benson.byu.edu/Publication/Manuals/guineapig.pdf

    Why Catha... WHY!

Don't expect particularly "strong" effects from catha. Sometimes the effects can be hard to notice as well as it isn't awefully mind altering or overly stimulating. Sometimes it comes down to how it is chewed as well. You chew it slowly and in between chewings let the juice of the leaves sit there in your mouth for a while so the good stuff can be absorbed then swallow the juice. Just keep doing this and try not to chew it too quick.
  14. I think goats are more adapted to australian conditions than cattle and goat meat is good as well. Maybe they should be farming more goats. Also different types of sheep rather than just one type. Some other types are probably better adapted to here such as those found in the middle east and dry desert areas.
