  1. Hi Zen,

I'm sorry to hear about the condition of your wife's grandfather. I'm only in my 20's and I was diagnosed last year with ET (which was previously known as familial tremor, because it has a tendency to run in family lines), so I'm not to sure its related to alcoholism, it appears more genetic. I don't have much knowledge of beta blockers or Eucommia so I can't help you out there; however I do have a book called "Beating Essential Tremor", which is based on diet, and since I've adopted the principles in the book it appears to have helped my condition tremendously. I'm not sure how much help it would be for your wife's grandfather; given the fact that it is a progressive disorder and he's quite a lot older than I am, I can only assume his condition is worse than my own. Though if you would like a copy of the book, I have a PDF file of it on my comp and would be more than happy to send it to you. If you're interested, just PM me your email address.

    All the best,

    Justler

  2. Thats interesting, i've never heard of ant mesh though I may have to look into it.

For now i've gone with a layer of DE on the top soil and a layer of sand. As for the bottom I'm trying the chux concept, and using wrapping one around the base of the pot, with a rubber band to hold it in place. Just about to change the sticky traps, so I can get a rough idea of whether or not this new system is effective.

  3. Great info, thanks for the tips guys

I'm thinking i'll line the bottom of the pots with some gravel, followed by a layer of sand and DE, than mix a bit in my potting medium and also add a layer on top with some sand. The super wipes sounds like an awesome idea as well! Hopefully this method along with the sticky traps will keep these little guys away.

    Thanks for the help!

    Cheers,

  4. Hey guys,

I have a slight Fungus Gnat problem :uzi: . I have some yellow sticky traps that are capturing heaps of the little guys, but hoping to stop them all together.

So i've read a few posts about diaotamacious earth and from my understanding if its placed on the soil surface it will slice open the gnats and their lauve, drying them out and essentially killing them. Thus stopping them from procreating and infecting my ethno's air space.

So i'm just wondering if the DE ends up deeper in the pots near a plants root system will it have the same effect on roots - slicing them open and damaging them?

  5. There are quite a few coming up :) ... Haha nice post strangebrew.

Is it quite pricey given the nature of the event, lack of formalities and 'professional' artists. But... it's going to be awesome! :shroomer:

  6. Hey guys,

Just a shout out to see if anyone SABers are planning on attending Burning Seed this year.

For those of you who don't know Burning Seed is Australia's version of the Burning Man festival that takes place in Nevada every year.

    Burning Seed Website: http://burningmanaustralia.com/

I have my heart set on this event! Just hoping it bares some resemblance to the real deal in the US, and that everyone embraces what this event is all about.

Would also be a great venue to meet some SABers as well!

    Cheers,

  7. Hey guys,

Just out of curiosity I was wondering if Salvia Divinorum seeds are illegal?

    The only information I could find on the matter is as follows;

"Salvia divinorum seed will probably be illegal as they are prepared plant matter. However, once they are treated (??!!) they will fall under the exclusion for treated seeds and may then be legal. There is no definition of seed treatment provided by the SUSDP or TGA, so this may be shaky ground." - Torsten 2002 [revised 2007]

    Source: http://www.shaman-australis.com.au/Website/law/SalviaInTrouble.htm#seeds

As this was revised 4 years ago, just wondering if the legality of seeds is currently known?

I find it rather odd that Papaver Somniferum seeds are legal, and something like Salvia Divinorum may not be.

Further from this point, is anyone aware what factors lead a seed to becoming illegal? Is it based purely on the chemical make-up of the seed and whether or not the seed itself contains an illicit substance?

Sorry if this topic has been discussed prior, though I'm unable to find much conclusive data on the matter.

Note: I am aware that if one was to obtain seeds, on the rare chance they were to germinate, the seedlings definitely be illegal. And as such I have no intent to try. Just trying to gain a greater understanding of the law in relation to ethnobotany, given the the potential new implementation/amendments to drug schedules.

    Thanks in Advanced,

    Justler

  8. Hey guys,

I've only recently taken a real interest in mycology and still have quite a bit of research to do before I feel I'm able to contribute. But if this was to go ahead, I'm definitely keen to come along and learn a few things, if I'm welcome. It would be great to meet a few of you guys as well :)

    Regards,

    Justler

  9. Hey guys,

I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules, but from what I understand "Trading and advertising items for sale is welcome and encouraged!!"

So I'm hoping this also applies to other websites, and I'm sorry if it doesn't.

In regards to Caapi strains, I know they have a few varieties over at Herbalistics

    Including:

    - 'Cielo'

    - 'Nuevo Ola'

    - 'Ourinhos'

    - 'Tucunaca'

    - 'Peru'

Not sure what 'colours' they are though. Would any body else know the answer to that?

Just curious as well if anyone knows what colour or strain the caapi from SAB might be?
