Hello all! I have been wandering the earth for many weeks now, I share with you my spoils of spain! There is a fantastic cactus garden in Barcelona that I visited, it has in the past couple of years been neglected but has undergone extensive work recently to restore it to its former glory. As a result some of the cacti whilst still impressive, have become a wee bit derelict. Regardless I spent many hours there satisfying my spiky fetish. Heaps of trichos Would definitely recommend it if in spain at all, Barcelona is quite nice too! The photos are quite big so I have compiled them into a photobucket : http://s1335.photobucket.com/user/georgepiehat/library/Jardins%20de%20Mossen%20Costa%20l%20Llobera%20Barcelona There are still 60 or so to be added but the internet where I am is appalling, the ones online now are the product of many hours of exhausting uploading. I will be going off the map for a while as we travel to morocco tomorrow , I figured id better upload as many as I can now incase I have to trade my computer for freedom. Wish me luck and stay posted for pictures from the notorious Rif mountains Peace George

Not sure this warrants its own topic but I thought that some of the specimens here were unreal. Gardens by the Bay is a 100 hectare plot of man made island, they ran out of country. Cost the Singaporean government over a billion dollars to put together and took something like 8 years to finish. There are plenty of photos online but I thought you lot might like to have a detailed look at the cacti section, which was crazy. I found the place to be truly breathtaking at points (cloud forrest, immaculate orchids) and disappointing at others (touristy feel, people thinking its funny to throw handfuls of gravel into the top of a half meter high ferrocacti). Well worth a visit ($20) if you are ever in Singapore! Hope you Enjoy! http://s1335.photobucket.com/user/georgepiehat/library/

Thanks peeps! my camera ran out of battery luckily the arid section is the first out of the door, I went a little crazy. Spacemonk, definitely tell them to go! If you buy tickets elsewhere before you turn up it can be ~$5 cheaper. Sunglasses are a must, they decided to put white concrete everywhere so the glare is unbearable! Fun Fact: the worlds most profitable casino is right next door ;) They make nationals pay $80 to get in, I think crown should adopt a similar policy...

There are a few logs missing, but it seems the looters where decent enough to steal from the back row. its a bit of an elderly haunt this suburb, and a weird street perhaps thats why they are untouched. next time I go to visit the grandparents-in law I'll knock on the door!

Found this fantastic plantation today driving along in Melbourne's north. some where at least 2 and a half meters. had some pretty looking mother in law cushions too This is the front, wonder what he's got out the back!
