All American 21.5 quart Pressure Cooker + shipping = $260 delivered to your door in Australia. http://www.amazon.com/All-American-921-All-American-Pressure/dp/B00004S88Z/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1289664206&sr=8-1 I have this one and it's gangsta.I only wish it was this cheap when I got mine earlier this year
  2. Hey, First time poster here. I was wondering if any Western Australian users have ever been to a meeting of the Cactus and Succlent Society of W.A.? If so then is it any good? I am trying to find some decent places in Perth that sell Cacti. I was also thinking of checking out http://www.wacactusucculent.com.au I checked out Bunnings and a few other places but I find nothing or what I do find is appalling. Cheers, Migraineur

Cactus and Succulent Society of W.A???

I heard builders sand was crap because it is too fine. That is also what Steffen from Earth Alchemy told me too. This was yellow builders sand anyway and I am assuming you mean that kind.

Cactus and Succulent Society of W.A???

Thanks heaps, man. My girlfriend's parents owned a bonzai nursery and when they moved overseas recently they gave me a bunch of potting mixes and various other gardening things so I will have to go to the shed and check the stuff out more thoroughly. I might be able to find some things that are good for cacti and succulents. By the way, do you know anyone in Perth who is willing to trade cuttings of B. Caapi?

    Pressure cookers

Well, that is the price I got from Amazon when I put it into my basket and went through the checkout. I did not buy it of course. The Presto cookers are a lot lighter than many other cookers. They are nowhere near as good as the All American. I bought an All American Pressure Cooker and ended up paying about $150 AUS in postage but this was when the Aussie dollar was around 85 cents compared to the US dollar. The All American Pressure Cooker is also heavy as a mofo. Go to Amazon.com and check it for yourself.

Cactus and Succulent Society of W.A???

Hey man, You told me to send you a private message so you could help me out but I can not find a way to do it. I think I am not allowed to yet as new members are restricted until they make a certain number of posts and have been here for so long. The Shroomery did that too when I joined many moons ago. I left this message on your profile under 'comments'. Maybe if you message me first then I will be able to reply to you. What is this takeaway tek that you speak of? I know a bunch of mycology teks but none to do with cacti.

Just get one of these 23 quart Presto pressure cookers for $85. Fucking deal! These are hell expensive in Australia. You will pay extra for shipping but these ones don't weight that much compared to the All American Pressure Cookers. For the cooker and shipping total you are looking at just under $118. These babies sell for at least $250 in Australia and many places charge $300 or more.

    sealing petri dishes

By the way, if you're looking for good lab equipment then check out this site: http://www.wiltronics.com.au/catalogue/172200/science The range is huge, the prices are good and you can buy individual items. That's where I get my petri dishes from and various other things for agar work etc. Their customer service is good too. They ran out of a small flask that I wanted to buy so they rang me and gave me a bigger one for no extra cost.

    sealing petri dishes

Yeah, I don't like micropore tape because of the sticky residue that it leaves. I also use disposable petri dishes as glass petri dishes are a hassle and they're expensive.

You can find Parafilm here: http://www.livingstone.com.au/2010/?PG=search_result&CAT=6&search=parafilm and you can also find it at Mycosupply.com Florists also use it as well but I am not sure what kind of rolls they get. I just bought 2 inch by 250 inch roll. It works really well as it allows for gas exchange and it will stretch and also partially go back to its original form so it makes a nice seal.

Cactus and Succulent Society of W.A???

Hey man, Thanks for the information. How big is the club and what kind of people are there? I imagined it being a club full of old geezers. I am looking for San Pedro and Bridgesii but I am also keen on non psychoactive cacti as well. They look good and they are good to place under entry points like windows etc because they frustrate burglars etc so they're more likely to break into someone else's place =P I just got a bunch of seeds in the mail that I ordered from Earth Alchemy but it will take a while until they grow I also need to locate some 'coarse sharp sand' at the moment for the seeds. The user B. Caapi told me about some hardware store that has some cactus mix that he uses but I think it's hell far south of the river but I'm keen for a drive. I live in the Swan Valley area.

I have an All American. I would recommend getting one and because the Aussie dollar is so strong at the moment then they are a lot cheaper. They are cheap if you buy them through Amazon.com, however, Amazon.com won't ship it to Australia. However, you can get it delivered by a freight forwarder which solves your problem or if you know someone in the U.S. then get it delivered there for free and then get your friend to post it here.
