    S.W, limited distribution?

i'd be very interested to see how naja naja's attempt is going 6 yrs on from when it began i can confirm that there has been success in outdoor cultivation much further south than bailingup im not going to give out any locations (sorry guys) but yes they will grow spawn was taken from the b-town and relocated to another area further south a small amount of stem buts and a very small amount of wood debri covered in mycelium was used stem butts were placed in some containers with some woodchips and sawdust (never heard of the cardboard technique at this point) the small amount of myc covered wood was placed outside with some more woodchips over time the mycelium spread from the stem butts to the wood chips and sawdust some small pine logs had some holes drilled in them and some of the myc covered woodchips were placed in the holes holes were then plugged with cardboard and log placed half buried into outdoor woodchips (the log now gets moved around constantly within 1 -2 months the woodchips under the log become a mass of extremely rhizomorphic mycelium) i will post some pics of this sometime i had some but computer fucked up an i lost all my pics and the log shouldnt be moved again this close to the season anyway there is now masses of extremely aggressive and extremely rhizomorphic mycelium all over everything everywhere since i stepped it up in the last year after it fruited last season so basically this all started in 2007 or possibly 2008 hahha im not sure the process began after picking one season there was then 1 or 2 seasons with no sign of fruits (they may have been there but werent noticed) and last season it finally happened patience is key but i can confirm for you all that they seem to love the conditions and popped up in many more places than expected and this is MUCH further south than the B-town so goodluck all

    Adelaide Panaeolus subbalteatus

im still saying there all foes they look exactly the same as ones i picked and checked out last week i have hundreds of em growing in the lawn and i have hundreds of photo's of em some are alot chunkier than others some are very small and weak but they all appear to be foes heres a link to my post in the shroomery http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/14423344#14423344

check the spore print colour first im surprised people said subbs straight out with no spore print i say they are foes they look exactly the same as the foes that are growing in my lawn spore print needs to be JET BLACK it shouldnt have any colour in it just complete black if you search the shroomery forums there is a good pic somewhere with the difference in spore prints between foes an subbs a foe print looks pretty black but its not it can be hard to see the difference without a comparison

    great southern mushroom id

haha sorry man but unfortunately its just the way it is the odds of finding anything are virtually nill as i said you could do some research on gymnopolus you might have some luck but chances of finding anything are still pretty slim otherwise you can always just keep your hopes up an just keep hunting there's alot of unidentified and undiscovered mushrooms in the south of w.a. just always make sure you do alot of research and i mean ALOT mushroom hunting and identification is not an easy task so alot of research is key goodluck

    great southern mushroom id

i find that pretty hard to believe anyone who tells you that is probably lieing or has made a patch somewhere but as far as i can tell noone has the brains to even try it from people i no an talk to
  7. myco

    great southern mushroom id

there are no active mushrooms there and you will more than likely not find any in the great southern unless you find some gymnopolus in western australia you will be looking for psilocybe subaeruginosa wich you will NOT find in the great southern unless you stumble across a patch someone has created wich is NOT gonna happen if your in the great southern and want shrooms your gonna have to either buy them or drive to the infamous B-TOWN and pick em yourself wich is not advised unless you have someone who actually knows wat theyre looking for even then its not advised to to the police presence so if you really want to look for magic mushrooms down south try doing some research on active gymnopolus

    Contam?

well im no expert but wat i can see in your first pic looks to be the good stuff very rhizomorphic with all the stringy looking bits goin everywhere thats what you want
  10. myco

    Contam?

i wouldnt worry to much man just stick it outside the mycelium looks pretty hardy in there so a lil bit of green mould wont do fuckall just get it out of the box leave the box outside for a while and it will be all good i've seen this stuff alot it grows quickly but also dies easily so you wont have much trouble getting rid of it if your attempting an outdoor patch it will be fine if your really worried you can always just get some of the good mycelium out and transfer it to some new chips good luck

    WA Season

im gona spill the beans an say those subs werent actually found in b-town they are the result of some guerrilla farming ;) they are originally from the b-town i to dont like to risk running into the fun police i have on a few occasions over the years but havent been for the last couple of yrs my advice to all is to take the risk if you dare and then use wat you get to create your own patches so you dont have to take the risk of going to b-town theres a million people who go there every season so the boys in blue are all over it however i no alot of people who go there every year and never get caught but if you dont want to take the risk at all then find a source for fresh ones you can use the stem but method without even having the stem buts if you get some and theyve been chopped off at the base already you can still use them AS LONG AS THEY ARE FRESH ENOUGH simply pull the cap off the mushroom place the cap and the stem into wet cardboard and away you go mycelium will start to grow from all over the stem and the cap also within a few days its a foolproof way and its garaunteed to work TRUST ME and the best thing you dont need to be making sure everythings sterile anyone can do it ANYONE happy hunting people
