Trichocereus Brigesii... Pretty large cuts, fast grower, I think it a cutting originally came from the botanical gardens about 15 years ago here in Melbourne (I didn't take them tho!) just got it off the guy who did -

hmm...wouldn't know the names clones. I inherited them from a cactus collector so I'm sure some of them would be specific clones but I wouldn't know them unfortunately. pics of cactus in the ground coming soon :-) -

yup, can post the ones in the ground. I've never posted cactus before... do you just wrap it in some fabric and send them in a post box? I'll load some pics up of the cactus in the ground tonight -
Hey gang (apologies on the cross posting but not sure if the mushroom people check the sales page often) Sadly I'm downsizing my mushie growing gear as I'm moving to smaller digs and don't have the space. I've posted the small laminar flow hood and the All American pressure cooker (40qt!) up on ebay. Laminar Flow Hood All American Pressure cooker Check em out and hit me up if you have any questions. Cheers OmSource

hmm...I could ship but I'd be happier not to... the Hepa filter is pretty fragile and I know from experience how rough couriers can be! power supply is Aus friendly...they supply both 120V and 240V in their electrical equipment. -

yup, his whole talk at Uplift festival is up on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=za-vIdak3bI Also heard he's coming back across for the next uplift! Awesome -
yup Tradd's got some great vid's! He's got some neat projects happening over there...a real wealth of info

my french is pretty rusty...looks like it's very similar to button cultivation. I wonder how necessary the peat casing is to get it to pin. If it's as necessary as for buttons that's a deal breaker for me. I've seen enough peat wasted on mushroom cultivation for my lifetime! I'll have to dust off my culture and see how it grows
-
any idea on how easy these guys are to grow? indoors or outdoors? I found one a few months back, got it on culture but it's just been sitting there cause I thought they are a bit harder to cultivate...

hey gang, gotta couple of king stropharia spawn bags ready to grow... only 2 extras at the moment but I've finally found a decent recipe to grow SRA spawn for outdoor planting so more on the way. King Stropharia- sawdust spawn same strain as in this thread king stropharia sweet, OmSource

I'd love to hear the results from this one... I've read that the mycelium will reduce the alkalinity of the substrate...brings it down to around neutral, but haven't ever tested it to be sure.

Hey all, Just wanted to share some success on a little side-project I've been working on. Lime-pasteurisation has been around for ages but i've never had great success with it until recently. Materials needed: shredded straw or sugar cane bagasse high calcium hydrated lime (very important that it has minimal magnesium in it) Oyster Spawn (I've used grain spawn successfully) Could also use other aggressive straw fruiting species but I haven't trialled it Container to soak the straw in Steps: Fill your tank up with the least amount of lime-water needed to cover your straw 400g of lime to approximately 200L of water (I tend to use a bit more than this but it settles at the bottom so it's overkill!) You're aiming for a PH of 13-14 so get a PH pen if you do it regularly. Takes the guess-work out of it. I pack my straw into those "tough bags" with holes punched in them and submerge them under water for 18h Remove the bags after soak time and let excess water drain away Use a higher than average inoculation rate I aim for 7-10% (work back from there till you hit the sweet spot...it's always better to start with a success first!) Incubate and fruit! I've had a few contam free grows with my main oyster strain... I've also read up that a number of other species can be grown this way...pioppino, certain shiitake strains, king oyster etc.. Here's a pic of a lime pasteurised grow style.. Blog on Lime-Soak tek- I'm going to really try to keep it updated :-)

Hey gang, I've been out of the loop for the past season dealing with a busted laminar flow hood but now I've got the filter replaced and its back up and running! I have some surplus grain spawn if anyones chasing any... I struggle to keep up with the PM's here on the SAB so I've loaded it up on the website just to keep it easy! http://www.fungiculture.com.au/collections/growing-supplies Basically it's spawn that I use that I can easily make a few bags extra. I can't make up special orders as it's too much of a process. Any questions get in touch on: [email protected] as I don't check my PM's often! Sweet.

Here's a couple pics from a patch planted to the same strain... thought I'd post them here rather than start a new thread

Hey all, Been flat out recently and haven't been on the forum for ages! My incubation room is overflowing at the moment and I've got to off load a ton of material. Didn't want to compost lots of the bags as most of them are ready to grow, so I thought I'd put it out there... If anyones keen I'll post them off for the price of shipping something like $10-12 gotta check the rates. I'll post them off when I get time (next month or so) See below and first in first served... King Oyster 1.5kg small fruiting bags I've got stacks of these! A number of larger KingOyster bags (some may be to heavy to ship cheaply) Shiitake bags ready to pop! 2-3 bags only One and only One! Grain Spawn bag of SRA strain 12 (this guy has a slight bacterial contam but it would go fine planting it outdoors in hardwood woodchips- note: strain 12 is second generation from the Starweed strain (I believe a wild strain collected up in the Byron Shire?) Post here and note what you want...The small bags are 1.5 kg and the big ones hopefully are under 3kg. 3kg Postage Satchel is something like $11/12 so thats what they'd go for. It will take me some time to organise so be patient and remember they're free OmSource

beauties! can't wait to see the full flush thanks for the update
-
any updates satyr? I'd be keen to hear how large the SRA's grew...and how well the patch flushed. the spore print came from a fairly large mushroom, but nothing like some photo's I've seen!

Tek: Soma_seeker's home-made laminar flow hood for $180 (or less...)

love the set-up! seems you can pull a lot off when you bend the rules Keep us posted on the progress! -
sorry it took awhile...appreciated the patience

Awesome work satyr! I had my money on that culture, glad to see it's been proven to fruit! So hard to prove a SRA culture as they're hard to fruit indoors. Your patch looks like it's been cased? What did you use as the substrate make-up
