That's the so-called Peruvianus 'Martin'. One of the best looking clones in the world IMO. And that picture there doesn't even show how amazing it gets: http://www.cacti.co.nz/index.php/library/t/category/792-

I'm just worried what will happen if/when they fill those pots... I'll have to buy soil instead of people food

Well, I think many of the pots at the front that appear small are either well-established plants that I had nowhere to pot into (all of the bridgesiis with multiple columns), or some have just been in a pot for 2~ years (the tall column on the far right). Secondly, I always try and pot into a small pot when it's a cutting, or a plant that I don't think is healthy. Sometimes I get lazy and pot into gigantic pots, but the plant always "drowns" and gets hurt from the cold. So I find that if the pot is the right size - the plant can control the soil moisture, and it likes that.

Yeah man, I'll make sure you get the pollen asap once it flowers.

Err, that should say 'Cypress protectorate' :]
-
Yep, that's the one. :D Is yours growing well?

There is actually some sheep somewhere in the dark area there, how did you know?

I'm sure you also recognize the Terscheckii you traded me, as well as the Werd. :]

That one came from a cactus grower in Auckland. He didn't grow from seed, and his plant was only 1.5m~ high (with a few branches). I couldn't say much more than that though.
That is exactly right, it was a SS02 x Bridgesii, and it was the one that got attacked by slugs before (http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?app=galleryℑ=5114)

Thanks man

If it's one of these, then it's just a slow grower I think. I can't really understand why either, but my bigger one grows so slow. Maybe it's tiring making those big spines for him?

Sorry for the late reply Atp. I'm using a mixture of two pre-made mixtures from our local cactus nursery (C,C,), in roughly a 50/50 ratio. As far as I know the unique parts are the rocks (various pumices and other rocks), ground coir and good quality ingredients, plus a root insecticide of some kind (hopefully it's Neem or some such - will check). However I've since found the coir collects at the bottom of these pots and swamps out. In future I will make bigger holes or use different pots (found some with a plastic grid for a bottom that's already working wonders for some seed).

We had some ducks that used to visit us... apparently my dad caught (at least) one and drove it to a beach that's an hour away and released it there ... now there's only one duck that visits

Leave them both I reckon. The extra chlorophyll will make it grow faster for as long as the soil has nutrients I think hehe
