They also need really good drainage. Avoid fine sand in mix. and as much sun and air as possible.

after 12 years of smoking mj i have gotten used to a style of smoking, were by i must be alone always at night when parter has gone to bed. I have a smoke lie down and enter a deep meditation and drift off, close to a lucid dreaming state i guess, its a time of reflection and asking myself Questions. As soon as i realise that i am in this state i snap out of it, Only happens on the first smoke and will only last 5-10 mins feels timeless though.

Orange spots, sound like fungus most probably rust. Not exactly sure what to treat this with, ...Probably a systemic fungicide i.e: Fongarid. If it is a fungus or rust or until you find out what it is, try to keep it away from your other plants, keep dry through winter, lots of sun, good ventilation, good drainage. As with all plants prevention is better than cure, healthy plants can usually defend themselves without the need for fungicides and pesticides.

Confidor(Root drench/foliar) Very effective, low toxicity, systemic. Re-treat two weeks after first application. Azamax (foliar) Extremely effective, made from a neem extract and far more effective than neem oil. I do like using neem oil on some things, more as a preventative though.

I've got so many Bhut jolokias its not funny, Big shrubs, 140MM pots and chillies dropping off rotting and self seeding all over the place. but i is in Qld. Would be father difficult to grow indoors me thinks, unless you can create a high humidity environment. These babies like it hot and sticky and lots and lots of food too. Even in Qld they are nowhere as productive when the night temps get below 20C.

O.C.P eco oil comes with the active insecticides added, Neem and Pyrethrins. would not put any parrafin oil products near my plants even if i was wiping off.. I have rarely had a positive experience with white/pest oil.
-
These Multicrop ECO OILS are still made with parrafin oils, i'm not a big fan personally. Try and find an ECO OIL made by O.C.P,Organic Crop Protectants. Most good garden centres will stock. Made with botanical oils it is extremely effective against Scale, Aphids, Whitefly even Mites. It is far less likley to burn foliage even on ferns, still i would not spray plants in the middle of a hot day, just to be on the safe side. I highly recommend, smells quite nice too..

my advice,if using commercial mixes, Searles cacti mix( usually QLD only)or Debco cacti mix or mixing your own(usually best). For fert i would use a good qual organic eg. ECO88 or for slow release, i would use Nutricote black or even slower release. aviod osmocote as it dumps nitrogen too quickly. I've had really good results with ECO88, i highly recommend. Probably can only find in Qld though.

@ spunwhirllin: would love to see a photo, would be awesome to see an old one in cultivation.

from what i have heard.. these been endemic to such a small area which has quite specific environmental qualities such as night temp as low as -10C and possible day time temp as high as 40C for example, these are extremely difficult to grow outside of these climatic conditions, not impossible. One thing which would be a huge help in growing seedlings is finding the right Rhizobia bacteria to help roots establish and create the symbiotic relationship a lot of legumes need to thrive.

White fly generally buzz around when disturbed, could be scale if they don't move around. You could just scrape them off if not many or you can use a product called Eco-oil which is a good organic pest control made from plant extracts.
