Cigarettes to be sold in plain packets from 2012

As a nicotine dealer I like this change. I hate selling cigarettes. Everytime someone asks me what milligram is in a packet I tell them I don't know, it's just how many holes the filter has anyway, maybe cigarette packets should just have that on the packet.

    2010 Sub season

For those that have DryRider motorbike pants, wear em! Waterproof, warm and KNEE PADS ZOMGS. I love having knee pads while picking soooo much, really good for photo taking too Wavy cap/flat cap/bell cap differences could be put down to variations of the subaugenerosa strain. I know there are still a few people that classify wavy and straight caps differently and break subs down further to P. Eucalypta and P. Australiana as well as a few others. Just as the advice my father used to give me was to look for the mushrooms with nipples, however i've found more subs without nipples than with, and have found cubes with and without nipples too. Some beautiful pictures though guys... really makes me hungry.

    Warning on Subs

I wouldn't call 2g of subs light either, i've dosed friends with 1g of subs and they've loved it but that's more of a recreational dose than a deeper introspective one. Also depending on the size of the sub, 2 subs alone can be an effective dose. Hell, i've seen a single cube that could dose 2 people, how's that for backwards? Personally i'm intersted in any psylocibin reports where a NOS tank has been used, not short burst snippet madness, but a tank for extended diving. mmmmmm.

US concern over Australian internet filter

OMFG, that link is so... zomg it's on first of april but i'm sure it's serious :/ Will they ban comedians who pull pranks on people too? Banning 4chan, one of the most vocal anti-censorship communities on the web. Anyone hear anything about the leaked list? First i've heard of it. In short, that article was more like a spot on A Current Affair or Today Tonight.

    Wood waste

You should be using a mix of chips and sawdust. Sawdust is great for keeping in moisture and the chips will provide the mycelium with a slow release source of nutrients. Mushrooms generally prefer to grow on hard woods from memory, I don't know what type of wood the ones you'e listed are.

    Warning on Subs

2g subs into a shot glass filled with lemon juice, one gulp. Most of my trips are by myself, however over the past 6 months dosing on subs has been rare due to availability so I use cubes instead. The only times i've broken through the standard CEVs into where your vision goes from blurry 4:3 into HD widescreen have been on cubes. The one time it happened after I consumed subs i had only had 1g dried of them after doing 5.5g dried cubes anyway, more floaty above the clouds mixed with strangely telepathic feelings. But anyway, from the social parties i've had with people I had noticed that consuming subs allowed everything to attain more of a creepy carnival vibe but had never noticed that through CEVs, I found it interesting that you guys had found the opposite, carnival CEVs, normal OEVs. meh

    Warning on Subs

I just want to state i've never actually had CEV's or visions of carnivals on subs some interesting experiences, but none involving walking around a carnival checking out clowns. However i've noticed the whole world takes on a more carnival approach somehow, that everything just looks a little carny and kinda creepy sometimes. 2g subs in lemon juice is my favourite dose, then keep dosing throughout the trip if you want to prolong it a bit longer.

Magic mushroom drug bust in Pretoria

Wow that picture shows them growing shrooms out of a jar lid which could only possibly be 1 inch tall, that's a pretty impressive use of substrate! They only arrested 3 people though while searching 6 locations. To grow that much worth of mushrooms they'd need a whole lot of help or just a whole lot of time.

    Warning on Subs

I love the dark carnival references in this thread because myself and a few friends all agreed on this last year Subs can definately be taken recreationally although i'd recommend a 2g dried dosage otherwise you can get too tired and are more prone to close your eyes and wander off in your thoughts. I hosted a 10 person mushroom party last year that went pretty well. We all started off with 2g dried subs, then someone brought a pizza box full of fresh subs and we had a few more till we were contented with plenty left over. One person had to lie outside for awhile just on the grass looking at the stars and one person kinda freaked out and had to leave for a bit to be alone(first time he ever actually hallucinated off psychedelics) but both admitted to having an incredible and enjoyable time . Having fun little activities like drawing and moulding helps and music definately helps! Spoonbill, Shpongle, OTT etc. Going for walks to parks and playgrounds is also a must! But this is all just tripping common sense really. I've found higher dosages of subs can lead to strange muscle twitches. I remember one time tripping by myself lying on the floor clawing at the ground, every now and then my whole arm would violently twitch, I felt like the mushroom spores were germinating and spreading mycelium through my brain causing me to somewhat lose control of my muscles. However i've had that thought a few times while on mushrooms... a feeling that the mushrooms are using us, not the other way round... creepy.

To pick or grow? That is the question.

Growing is fun but you have to follow procedures well, be patient, and have good sterile techniques. Also if you grow... don't tell anyone. I went searching at least 6-7 times last year before I was finally shown how to ID by a friend. Once you start getting subs, it becomes sooo much easier to find others(as long as they're there!). It's iding the first sub of the hunt that's the trickiest part.

    Gymnopilus junonius

Last season I used to pick these and draw patterns on them because I liked the look of them... never thought they might possibly be active! I know some growing on front yards near my house. Do they taste nice?

ID to buy a sim card

As a person that sells both sims and phones I can say that you need no ID to purchase a sim. You are now required to fill out a form if you purchase a phone if you don't pay using a credit card. Your name and address is taken as well as how many activated phones you're using currently and the phone you just bought's IMEI. I have to get people to fill them out every now and then, biggest time waster, really sucks when you're busy with other things and someone wants to buy some crappy phone edit: Ok after talking to another co-worker today she told me I should be checking for ID when selling sims... but I was taught not to and the forms haven't changed. Tonight i'll take a few photos of the forms and post em up.
  13. Post up on www.Nexusadelaide.com . They do the parties for Adelaide there, the next one is actually this saturday coming up at O'Sullivan's beach. They're always checking out new djs, if you have a set recorded and uploaded on the net that would be good.

Do you guys/girls buy your Agar or make them?

http://www.aussimushroomsupplies.com/agar-supplies.htm I bought mine from here originally when I just wanted some petri dishes. Expensive but easy. Auxin, the only person from the shroomery i've known to cross substrains would be either Roger Rabbit or Workman... trying PMing one of those, or just include workman's name in a post, he searches his own name Remember to do all your transfers in a glove box! or Flowhood

Possible cancer cure found in blushwood shrub

Unscientific maybe but illegal and immoral? At first I thought this was a reaction to people who may sell cancer curing drugs before any proof had been found, but the wording targets people trying to cure it themselves. :/ Seems ridiculous that it would be illegal to extract something from some fruit that may cure cancer... is it actually illegal?
  17. So I was traversing(as one does) through an undisclosed location when I came across a curious see through box! Astounded that there was a box where there should be no box I woddled over to take a closer look! "Ah hah!" I exclaimed! Upon closer detection I noticed it was a small mini mono box that was growing cubensis. Upon further detection I was also able to ascertain that the substrate was contaminated with trich and had been put outside after the outbreak broke out after the first flush but not before a small amount of pins were present. Ever the keen observer I could tell that the mushrooms had been growing outside in direct/indirect sunlight for 4 days all of which were between 28C and 36C and surviving which is pretty cool ;) I used my astounding sense of insight to mentally weigh the mushrooms at 65g wet without ever picking them, then left the box alone and went on my merry way. Just thought you guys might see this as interesting

Lo fi straw tek for begginers

Hmm I didn't edit my original post as well as I should have, the wording is a bit off and i've corrected it. It's also kinda hard to find what i'd consider proper evidence to back up my claim... moreso a lot of anecdotal evidence which I happen to LOVE unconditionally. The basic premise is that not all substrains are compatable and will bond to form a single organism. The more spores there are, the higher the chances of having substrains that won't bond and thus you'll have uneven colonization which will affect fruiting performance. With multiple substrains growing in the same jar not bonding, they're thus competing for each other's food source and when that runs out... that's a primary pinning trigger!

Lo fi straw tek for begginers

Hey I just want to clarify a few things in your tek that I don't think are quite accurate. Now look, if someone followed your tek to a T they'd get results. I can easily see your tek would work! It just could work a bit better using a little bit less effort is all First off as someone else pointed out, double sterilizing your jars is a waste of time, everything dies in the second sterilization anyway so no point in trying to kill it before that point as well. Second, The alfoil over the jars when they're put into the Pressure Cooker is to prevent water dripping onto the top of the lids and possibly contaminating the micropore tape (although i use polyfil ) as when it's wet it's a viable medium for the spread of contamination. Once you've pressure cooked the jars you can then remove the alfoil in order to achieve optimum gas exchange during colonization. Putting a hole in the alfoil and leaving it on confuses me. Third, the more spores injected into a jar the more they have to compete against each other for nutrients once they've germinated. Less can actually be better in this case. The tiniest black dot of clumped spores contains way more spores than you'll ever need, and you spread the mycelium out when you shake after colonization anyway... which is my next point. Fourth, You should shake once it's 25-30% colonized in order to reduce colonization time not as soon as you see white, it just spreads the mycelium that much further. Although i've never actually shaken my jars straight away... have you tried both ways? As I said before, they're not huge problems, just little things I picked up in a whooole lot of writing. BTW adding gypsum to WBS during the soak can help to prevent clumping during the shake and also speeds up colonization. Good thread.

    sucess with sub cultivation

If you're going to try and cultivate in a fridge you NEED to sterilize the fridge OCD style. Your fridge is the most contaminated area in your house. Chances are that you're talking about subs, there were a few different types of woodloving psilocybes but they've mainly been lumped into the sub category. Ie P. Eucalypta, P. Australiana... and such spelling aside. Here is a must have for sub cultivation info. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/10748023#10748023 Personally i'd take the agar approach from a wild specimen, either from spores, a fresh cutting or hydrated/cleaned dry mushroom. Something to note though... P. Subaeruginosa is really really hard to cultivate... imo stick with cubes till you're confident

    Local Haul

If you're stepping into the wild world of cultivation take baby steps and start with Cubensis, Pan cyans are notoriously fussy and can easily contam/stall when growing. As for printing a wild mushroom, the most sterile way you can do so is to collect a mushroom that is stretching the veil but hasn't broken it yet. You take this home careful not to let it dry out too much or disturb the veil and put it into a glove box. You then use a sterilized scalpel to cut the stem and tear the veil. You then proceed to place the cap on some sterilized alfoil and cover the whole thing with a sterile glass/cup. Today's word of the day is STERILE.
