    Terence McKenna a CIA/FBI Agent?

I have a hunch that this type of thing is not that uncommon among the global psychedelic community (regardless of whether of the disinfo post shared above is true or not). More on the notion that government intelligence and law enforcement agencies want to keep tabs on what's going on but not actively pursuing on busting people unless it's either going to create a significant enough dent on drug distribution or seize a lot of money. I believe this is more because they are aware that psychedelic culture does not have the same criminal attributes associated with drug dealing and addiction from the big 3 narcotics. We're a bunch that tend to stick to our scene, have a lot of highly intelligent people, and stand firmly against violence ideologically. The fuel for our 'mind expansion' may ultimately come down to the money made from distribution on the supply end but even then are still not the type for guns and violence... plus hippies don't want their acid tainted with 'energies' of that shit. With these factors in mind, if a high profiled personality who shamelessly advertise their actions and promote people to use psychedelics got arrested with the ultimatum of jail time versus intelligence and allowing to still continue doing exactly what they do - in my eyes it's a no-brainer deal for them. Particularly in cases like Leary or McKenna where the go-ahead to continue their 'mission' freely in trade for intell from their perception could be viewed as for the greater good. It is ignorant to think that our government agencies are not fully aware of what goes on with the ethnobotanical and psytrance movement in this country. Sure busts occur, but if they really wanted to shut us down they would have already - and we all know a few instances of certain people who have flaunted DMT and psychedelics in the most public manner they could think of yet still walk away without consequence time and time again (and not from lack of trying) We're not worth the effort overall because there are bigger fish to fry with the cok\met\her trade being linked to the shootings we hear on the news every other week, yet it's stupid to think that they do not keep us on the radar. All they need to find is a big scene player with a psychedelic mission getting faced with jail time who believe that their cause is worthy enough to preserve for the benefit of humanity - and all they have to do is provide intel so they can continue their mission... and there is no shortage of trippers who think it's their divine responsibility to start a psychedelic revolution. If the stories that certain members have come out with re: ACC are factual, then the manner in which they operate in terms of arresting, detaining, and dealing with people of interest is a prime environment to force people into giving intel. Please understand I'm not one to believe in conspiracy theories, more because the people speaking out about them time and time again demonstrate their lack of credibility versus the general scientific consensus against them. But my hunch on this matter, whether true or not, is really not so hard to believe... I've heard plenty of Chinese whispers depicting scenarios involving a few people where the so called 'facts' of what went down do not match the complete lack of repercussion. I treat these things as rumours... yet I've also been told first hand accounts that didn't match up with them being free and telling me about it. But who knows really? The only alternative explanation is that these people really are on divine missions that protects them no matter how public they strive to be. Which is still a possibility I will never rule out. There is too much paranoia and conspiracy shite in the scene I reckon.. people should stop worrying about chemtrails or interdimensional time traveling agents shaping the existence of mankind, and focus on all the messed up shit that we now know our Western governments are proven to ACTUALLY be doing.

HTPCs and Home Media Setups - What ya got?

Sweet idea using it for games. Gonna look into getting that working on the pi.. Fucking love those little things... especially since I discovered that there is Kali Linux for arm devices - the pi specifically. The portable and cheap (thus disposable) nature of the devices, with battery packs available, combined with a full blown penetration testing suite in Kali conjures many ideas for mischief.
  3. Recently set some stuff up and am extremely pleased at the end result... especially now I have access to repositories of HD tv shows and movies to download or stream directly to my television with ease. Basically I have 3 hosts in the house all primarily running Linux distros that have media downloaded to... my main computer in my loungeroom, my iMac in the bedroom that serves as a tele and my girlfriends laptop. I have now installed Plex Media Server on all three, with the unsupported plugin addon installed allowing me to access a fuckload of media primarily through SS-Plex, Navi-X and Icefilms plugins. I also paid for plexpass and have the Plex app on phone and tablet devices. For a tele I have a 40inch Samsung Smart 3D tele with a Raspberry Pi plugged into it via HDMI, running OpenELEC which is a Linux based XBMC distro. It is connected via ethernet along with other three hosts. I was very suprised to see the combined interface between the tele and the pi so polished, allowing the TV remote control to work automatically. I have configured it to allow airplay, SMB, SSH, SFTP, uPnP. There are a hell of a lot 3rd Party plugins for it which I won't bother listing but worthwhile checking out, but to tie everything together I have installed PleXBMC plugin on it allowing me to access SS-Plex, Navi-X etc through the TV. I originally tried Rasplex on the pi but because of the servers running on Linux machines I was unable to access streaming of SS-Plex etc to the pi due to flash restrictions in Linux. If you run the servers on Mac or Win then you won't have the same dramas. Regardless OpenELEC + PleXBMC is a much better option with Rasplex still in beta and no where near the same level of additional tweaks, addons and plugins available. Very cool. Anybody else doing anything interesting like this and tips they wanna share? Edit: If anybody is interested in the details of the process I went through I'll more than likely put a guide up on my blog sometime soon.

Nice one. Yeah new speaker setup is the next thing on the agenda and eventually a dedicated file server... could set up one of those with my eyes closed but just haven't had the coin.

What Video Games Do You Play?

Single player only and I stopped playing 3D shooters when they started making games for multi player and started neglecting the single player campaigns. Past 4-5 years gotten back into gaming but pretty well strictly console.. Highlights of the PS3 era for me have been Red Dead Redemption, the Uncharted series, Fallout 3 + New Vegas (loved 1 and 2 as a kid) and Mass Effect 2+3 to name a few.

    Staying off the radar

The problem as a society we now expect to be able to use information technology with no understanding of how it works. Now we're all are up in arms that people are doing shit with our information. This is the cost of us becoming complacent.

    Staying off the radar

Okay, so Tor's recent breaches have been widely discussed. What about i2p? Looked into the Tails OS? Pfftt Adblock..... install NoScript!!! There's always VPN... combine that with Tails and it's utilization of Tor, i2p and privoxy... also utilising VM's and spoofing mac address, and for the icing on the cake "DON'T USE YOUR OWN PUBLIC IP". There are plenty of wireless APs out there just asking for you to break into em so you can do whatever you need to do. Besides that there are some basic practices which will help reduce chances of getting hacked: *Keep your ports tight - don't have more open than required. This goes for your router and your hosts. Firewall that shit up. *Use different passwords for different accounts and make them strong (that's letters, numbers and symbols and no words). People seem to use the same passwords, which means that if somebody gets one they get it all. *Firefox with private browsing, no 3rd party cookies and no script is a good idea. *Use pubkeys where possible and especially for SSH or remote connections (disable root login). *Don't use WPS on wireless AP's - vulnerable as all hell and makes your strong WPA2 passphrase useless if you have it enabled. *Use a MAC address filter for your wireless.. might be a pain having to add the address every time a new person wants to use your wireless but best way to keep it locked down. Once a hacker has penetrated your internal network it's game over. On that note if your router's user and pass is still admin admin your just making it too easy for somebody to own your shit if he breaks your wireless key. *Keep your scanners up to date... in regards to rootkits being discussed earlier these packages in Linux will help you keep on top: chkrootkit - rootkit detector rkhunter - rootkit, backdoor, sniffer and exploit scanner *Learn how to use a vulnerability scanner or something - you don't have learn how to hack but you can at least find out if there are holes in your setup. *Don't send passwords as plain text (i.e. over http). Don't keep passwords in plain text written on a web account. *Always verify the SSL cert before you login to accounts... an easy MITM involves dropping the connection down to just http so your password gets sent as plain text and sniffed. This especially applies to public networks. Could go on but I'll stop there.

    modalert

Was hoping it would provide a substitute for ADHD stim medication a few years back when at uni... figured since dex and modafinal were used to treat narcolepsy then hopefully it'd help. Noticed marginal improvement, and some mild motivational stimulant like synergy with codeine, but got shocking headaches when attempting towards the upper edge of dose range and lower dose range didn't yield results continuing. Wouldn't mind maybe having some there again... I take dex but when I have to server work during the late pms\early ams it makes it much harder for me to just finish up and crash, as when taking for day\late arvo hours it's normally worn off by late night, so a mild dose might help keep my brain working in the wee hours.
  19. Pop Rocks: Ingrediants: *Powdered Peruvian sugar *Sodium bicarbonate *Distilled water *Pyrex jar Process: Mix Sugar and Bicarb to a 4:1 ratio Add enough distilled water to just dissolve mixture Place jar in a hot water bath inside pot on the stove - heat whilst swirling until solution begins to bubble. Allow solution to cool. You should be able to see the pop rocks forming in the bubbles. Add more distilled water and reheat whilst swirling. Take off heat and swirl until solution cools. Remove your pop rock.
  20. Since childhood I had this feeling I couldn't shake that I was reliving the same life over and over because I took a wrong turn somewhere along the way - leading to a very active pursuit of occult and ritual magic in my late teens... but science shifted my focus away from spirituality to a large extent. The concept of an afterlife to me is something I don't dwell on because I'm never going to know for sure, but even if there is nothing out when I die I take comfort in knowing that matter that composes my body will ultimately end up dispersed among the air, earth and inside other life forms. Besides that I think people should work out their spiritual beliefs themselves and not let other people's ideas dominate personal philosophical development.. just because someone wrote a few fucking books doesn't exclude the possibility that everything they came up with may just be total bullshit!! *cough* McKenna fanboys *cough* I'm willing to believe that things I've experienced through ritual or psychedelics might merely be a construct of my own brain, and I'm open to the idea that there is some greater cosmic significance, but if I can't know for certain then I'm not going to waste my time contemplating it. The pursuit of happiness and knowledge is all I really deem important for me, and trying to be a better person... doesn't need to be more complicated than that.
  21. Not if you got a serious habit for something. The chase is fucked, and doing what you have to do to get high can be soul destroying, and doing time as a result is more fucked because when you get out you have nothing to go back to except previous life. Legalization is most important for these people.. it's the current drug law that fucks up their lives, not the drugs. I know you were messing around in that comment, so I'm not a complete douche, just wanting to give a serious perspective on it hehe.

Haha I have a mate who consumed about 15-20g dried subs over a night and ended up at a brothel. I asked him how that went and he replied "I felt my third eye weeping - it was beautiful". Also have another mate with a taste for Cialis, meth and Asian hookers.
