Uploading pics to SAB that display as thumbnails, not full sized images by default
Torsten replied to zed240's topic in Site & Forum Matters
Thumbnails are good, but maybe not as small as they used to be. Have established thumbnails [sorry ethereal drifter :p]. Let me know how the size I just set works out.- 13 replies

have not encountered the message problem, so can't replicate. But hillbilly's comment makes sense as I have that problem with some other sites. Message search [in fact search ingeneral] has always been a really weak point for this forum software. easily overcome by smart use of google, but obviously not for messages

Thanks everyone for the donations. I haven't added them up recently, but will hopefully get around to the upgrade soon which will do it automatically. I think the target is reachable and I've made some changes that will save some costs, so next year will be easier.

No idea what happened there. I am restarting the server in a moment and i suggest you reboot your device too and then try again. Hopefully it was just a glitch on one end. Please PM me directly if it happens again so i can clear the images immediately.

for mini goats the best thing is to use dog/dingo mesh. the one with the narrow spacing on the verticals. It keeps them safe an it keeps your plants safe. Goats can do an inordinate amount of damage in a very short time. Also run an electric wire along the inside at about 400-450 to stop them rubbing on the fence - it will last a lot longer that way (males will trash them in a week during rut if you don't have that). I also run one on top and one on the outside to stop dogs from trying to get in. Look into steel fencing systems for strainer posts, such as 'easy stay'. More expensive to buy, but last longer and installs quickly.

I love your optimism of combining plants with mini goats

The total 4 days ago [the last time i added them all up manually] was $1240, which is awesome! The next upgrade will fix the donations counter apparently. Hopefully in the next few days.

haha etherial drifter, what's wrong with my gumboots? I am so used to wearing them that I don't even notice how ridiculous they look, LOL. Anyway, they've saved me from 3 snake bites already, so I'll stick with them. Although i guess if the platforms were a little higher they might be high enough to stop snake strikes too I am confused Discostu. From the colour that seems to be a black guy's dick, but the size is more like a whitey ;)

when you click into the search bar a drop down menu appears that lets you search 'this forum' for example, which means you need to be accessing it while in mycology. You can also go to advanced and it will give you all sorts of options. http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?/search/

I did a tiny incremental security upgrade the other day and is screwed the forums up. Took more than a day to fix. This is as good as I can get it for now, but there are still some formatting issues. With a bit of luck they are just caching issues and will go away by themselves. Let me know if you see anything that causes functional problems.

Upgrading this week. Downtime is possible. Please report problems here.
Torsten posted a topic in Site & Forum Matters
tech support is fixing some problems with the forum and also upgrading to latest version. There could be short periods of downtime. hopefully no major problems. we'll probably lose the skin and not sure if the old one will work on the new version, so it may all look weird for a while. -
all transactions need to have a current address and as many people don't update their paypal address i guess it needs to ask separately. As i said before, feel free to write anything made up in there as it will not affect the transaction and I don't need the address.

New site is da shizzle, but can color schemes be adjustable?
Torsten replied to drpotato's topic in Site & Forum Matters
yep, just tested in in the butchers corn giveaway thread. 5 posts since I last read it and it took me to the last post [not the first unread post]. S a bit inconvenient as I needed to scroll up and find the first unread post, but at least it got me in the ballpark and certainly only does a single link. remember you need to click the time, not the thread title. -

Torsten replied to drpotato's topic in Site & Forum Matters
I found the settings for this in the back end, but there is no option to adjust the view from post to threaded. however, are you sure it doesn't only post a single post from each thread [presumably the first unread post]. I did not see any doubles in my unread content list and a couple of threads I went into had more than one unread post. -

why would you want them to appear if you're up to date? -
currency issue is apparently now fixed. the total donations issue won't be fixed till the next update in a few days.
-
made the donation myself. not fixed back to tech support.
-
so apparently there were several known problems with the donations module which are fixed in the incremental update I just applied half an hour ago. This will apparently fix the problem of the total not adding up, but did not mention anything about the currency issue. Patience...... I need to wait till the next donation to see if the total starts adding up. It did not add the existing donations, but i can add them in manually in a day or two.

Proposed change to DMT legislation in Australia
Torsten replied to squidgygoanna's topic in Legal Matters
I'll close this thread to keep all the discussion in one as the other thread will eventually be moved here. It just seems more appropriate in the news section for the next week or so. -

well, if different users have different views then chances are it is a user profile setting, not an admin setting [phew!]. -
Nope, it still arrived as US$ and is the amount donated as if it was donated in US$. Have not heard back from IPB support. Hopefully soon.
-
As you can see by the discussion in this thread it IS being addressed. I think the AUD in the check out is served by the forum software which I have set to AUD. However for some reason paypal then processes it in USD. I can't seem to find a way to get paypal to stop doing that, which is why I already suggested above that I'll probably need to set the forum software to USD for consistency. Tech support will be back in a few hours so was just waiting to hear back from them first in case there is an easy fix. I don't want to make any changes as that might change the behaviour of the other problem which screws with tech support. But if anyone feels they want the difference refunded I'll be happy to do so - just PM me.
-
Looks like it is set for USD and I can see a way to change that. All transactions have been received in US$. I don't have a problem with that as paypal exchange is negligible. I'll try and get this looked at by tech support, but it is not a high priority for them. To be fair i think I'll need to change the total to a US$ total as that will avoid accidental overcharging.

dood, that sounds more like a setting in your profile settings if there is one. I certainly haven't come across it in the admin section. You can also click on the 'posted 2 hours ago' or whatever time it was and it will take you to the last post of that thread.
