    Ineffable Mysteries From Shpongland

    B'ah ! Don't spoil my incoming cherry.
  2. The new Shpongle album came out yesterday, and there's already an opportunity to download the music illegally. As much as I'm stinging to hear what the next chapter in the amazing psybient journey offered by Raja Ram & Simon Posford is all about, I am refraining. Instead, I went to Twisted Records and ordered a legitimate copy. Including delivery from the UK, it works out to be about SEVENTEEN AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS ($17AUD). Unlike others who might choose to download this illegally, I will have to wait for a week or two to have a listen, but I'll be hearing it in the best quality possible, the tracks will be seamless, I will have cover-art to pore over during my virgin sitting. My credit card has been debited, so technically I now own the record, and could download it... but fuck it, they deserve more respect than that. Simon Posford commented last month on the Twisted forum about the leaking of this record - really it wasn't that widespread then, but today there's heaps of torrents out there. If you read his comments, you may reconsider the very real problems with pirated music, especially with a non-commercial interest. Do the right thing, people. You can't argue with the idea of the best original psybient trance at a very low cost, whenit means the artists can live, not as disgraceful millionaires, but to keep producing god vibes.

    Going to India- any suggestions?

It's good that you have the radar on. Spescially for goiz loik dis b;ake Oops, CIA will be watching me now too
  4. I have discovered that someone I have fallen out with has recently posted three photos of me on his blog. While they are not offensive or lewd, I am, and always have been very particular about my image being on sites unless I approve of them. Is there any path I can take to make him remove the image? Some facts, that Im sure will be asked here so to clarify: 1. They were taken by him, and on his camera 2. I knew he was taking the shots at the time 3. I have politely asked him via email to remove them and he has refused to do so Sine then I wrote back advising that I take offense to the use of them, and should he refuse, I will be left with no other option but to contact the blog host (google - fuck, try finding an email address for them!), to write to Google HQ in the US, and also obtain the details of the server he used to post the and advise them (his place of work - I REALLY don't want to jeapodise his job though) that someone is using their web access to post pics that I deem offensive. He's also bagging me out on the site through his blogs, but not using my full name, and quite frankly he can say what he wants, it's his diary, and it's not libel if he doesn't use my full name. But I feel very strongly about the images. Any ideas, folks?

    What do you see?

Not anything fancy - the deal with this is mostly photoshop. My camera is the Fujifilm s5600 One of the three in that shot is holding that camera. Can you pick which one ? And which one is B.Loco?
  6. Yikes ! i just re-read my post, and it sounds like im being a bitch. That wasn't the intention.
  7. Downloading now, on a slow connection (reallocated high bandwith starts again tomorrow). But can I pose a question for discussion. I 'assume' it's going to be a mix of songs from other artists, and that you didn't create any of the music yourself per-se, but wedged them together to create a seamless sonic journey..... How much of your own feeling can you put into a compilation... and do you use any musical instruments to accent the transitions ? Do you think about the key that the songs are in, or just nudge the slides to alter BPM? Do you alter the pitch to suit the journey ? Do you shift the top end peaks, and drive the low bass rumbles, adding effects like reverb, delay, flange etc.... Not taking the piss at all, in fact I'm very interested. Have done a few 25 minute comps in the past (dodgy, and now deleted) with soundforge & acidpro, but don't know enough about it to truly slice & dice. Personally, I am getting into doing stuff from scratch, mostly with a keyboard controller & Reason 4.0. It would be awesome for a mix-meister to take them all (ie my longwinded creations) and work out some sort of groove. Simply because I cant get out of the looooooong movements. Sitting somewhere between Shpongle & Tool (but without the 'heavy')

I think ive lost my mojo

Does the OP even play guitar for pleasure ? He didn't ask 'what do you do' ? But eh Zen Ped, on the musical sense, why not start trying out some new, unchartered sounds ? Make a song for rock fans ! And as my answer is for just about any depressed/anxious/shitty feelings, try some snuffed sceletium ! Yea, that's my answer for everything. PM me if you want some, dude. No strings attached. Ok maybe one string attached. I'll send you a track and you can fuck with it.

An inconvenience for sure, but a rare one. I hope your friends prospective employers are understanding.
  10. Yea that's why I opened the discussion at the time with their Director before I donated (it was a goat, given to a GF at the time as a joke Valentines - and the only thing she ever got from me in 5+ years in recognition of that dumb hallmark day) I reckon some of these aid organisations cash in on the 'pulling of the heartstrings' and have benefactors give money to something that might include the funding of spreading gospel alongside the provision of the main selling product. And I am very uncool with funding shit like that. But he/she said to me that while they operate under a christian philosophy of helping people in need, they do not in any way promote the words or th ideals of christianity. I made him/her put it in writing, and was confident that what was stated was true (why would they jeapordise their operations by lying to me in writing). On another note, after cancelling the four tiny little regular contributions I had going until earlier in the year due to personal finance issues ($15 per month each to Greenpeace, The Wilderness Society, The Smith Family, The Fred Hollows Foundation, $60 p/m total), some woman rang me from the Fred Hollows Foundation, was not pushy at all, and asked me if I wanted to re-start my contributions, as it was on their records that I stated a hiatus. I said yes straight away, before she had the chance to tell me that my $15p/m to them helped in treating eye issues for SEVEN PEOPLE A YEAR. That in itself is pretty sweet. People here that are reading this, if you have an income, should ask yourselves, can you afford $15 a month for one year to restore sight to seven people ? People from impoverished regions that need their vision to perform the shitty jobs they do to put food on the table. That's something like $3.50 per week. Are you going to miss such a pissy amount of money ? Put it into perspective. No affiliation yada yada yada, but it makes you think. In my ranting state right now, it makes me think. Actually fuck, it makes me GLOW with pride. Probably the only good thing I offer this world.

    NSW dust storm pictures.

The creepiest part for me was waking at around 5am when the sun was just coming up, and it was a total full-on red that dissipated to a sickly ochre (no offence to this websites designer LOL) after about 20 minutes. The 5am gow seeped through the windows, and illuminated the kitchen sink, and also threw some weird colours through the toilet window I don't seem to have any plant damage, but botabically speaking it means more work for me this weekend... was planning on processing a few kilo's of sceletium, so i suppose i'll have to give the material a good few washes first Mac, Where are you, if you copped it yesterday ? I saw a shot of Broken Hill yesterday afternoon, and that looked way worse than Sydney. But im guessing that dust storms are more common in rural areas, perhaps not as full on as this round, but maybe not as big a shock as it is to Sydneysiders. Overall, it's a good experience though, it's not often that Sydney's weather patterns vary too much compared to the cyclical variations of other countries. Like hardcore monsoon seasons or being choked for months by forest smoke due to 'slash & burn' practices.
  12. That's such a great idea, thanks for posting the link. I remember seeing something years ago where some head-honcho from a bank went out into India or maybe Sri Lanka or Bangladesh, and provided loans to people to make a go of their lives. Small stuff like a few sewing machines, or a bag of seeds. Every month someone would bicycle out to the villages and pick up the payments. I remember they only ever loaned to women, because they were deemed more responsible with how they used the money, and importantly that they repaid their loan, which was such a rediculously small interest rate. There's also an australian site called www.usefulgifts.org in which you can buy gifts for friends & family that in reality are donations for people in developing countries. For example I can buy a chicken for $5. Or set up an organic vegetable garden for $25, chip $85 in for someone's HIV care, right up to $1500 for a water-well. I have communicated with the director of TEAR, the parent org that runs usefulgifts, and was assured that my money does not go towards funding missionaries to preach christianity (important for me at least to know Im not financing someone elses lie-juggernaut) but it's always important to ask the organisation you donate to such questions so you know precisly what % of your money is getting to the place/people ou think it is. Sorry to rattle on, but it's a good subject that should be considered by all young people. A small sacrifice of a few less beers or one less baggie of weed each month can make a massive difference to someone truly in need. So Watertrade's link doesn't get buried, here it is again: www.kiva.org

Oh yes, incredibly gifted. Oh yes, for sure. Small-Window Evolution has brought us to a point where those with markedly less musical ability are lauded by the common man/woman as new-century saviours. Rat-a-tat-tat & three-dime-bags-full, these prophets blurt with passion, and so shall Aussie Hip Hop replace the old messiah. I saw these 'bands' on youtube, and I knew that it was good. Hell yea ! Mankind's journey through the ages with musical expression has finally come to it's pinnacle. Everything hereafter will be second rate. Aussie Hip-Hop will be forever written in the history books as THE ultimate in vibes. Followers of the great artists of modern times past should step aside. The Beatles' creative direction is now redundant, all the pioneers of rock are should be seen as irrelevant, kids should put down their instruments, drop to their knees and worship the magical zeitgeist of the now, in Aussie Hip-Hop. Anything less would deny us a place in god's green heaven.
