Hey folks Been messing with this weird culture someone sent me a while back that I think has been mislabeled. Mycelium is kind shiny white and very fast, linear then creating ridges, covers the plate then exudes volumes of liquid metabolite like ive never seen. I ran a few bags of it and it was very quick - outpacing an oyster strain that is itself pretty damn fast. By this stage I was almost certain it was not the mushroom it had been labelled as. Now cased it has started throwing up these rather odd structures that a friend tells me is probably Ganoderma of some description: 1. anyone agree - i guess its a little early to tell but just curious 2. is anyone interested in jars of spawn of this - i have about nine and I have no intention of growing this mushroom really. They would be at price of postage only (free to good home).

Hi i didnt realise sra was on the import list. Nice work. the agar is basically mea. The strain(s) were linear sectors isolated from germinated spore streaks. Seems to be going ok on grain and sawdust too - faster than the rest.

Gday i have about 3/4 litre of millet spawn of king oyster if anyone is keen. I wont have time to grow it out. Tidy strain pretty easy no fuss. chuck us $12 plus postage and its yours

Never thought about it but mushrooms do like to accummulate. one of the biggest sub patches at latrobe uni was often sprayed for weeds and i often wondered but none of the trippers (including the bloke some years later who went all capitalist and picked them all, sold them to students to fund a european trip then bragged about it in the uni magazine) demonstrated ill effects that i was aware of. other than forgetting which way was down or see robert plant manifest in a tree at the bar...

As i just posted I found modafinil really weird. I too also urinated constantly and felt hung over the next day like id done something illegal. felt like utter crap. while i was focused i was also mildly irritated by anyone or anything that distracted me in anyway from what my mind wanted to focus on. then once i added coffee to the occasion i was as a hyped up scattered mess. the hang over the next day really put me off it. I may as well have drunk half a slab the way i felt. weird...

So many talk about modafinil as this amazing all purpose drug that will improve all aspects of your life. Ive tried it and to be honest I found it weird. I felt mildly energised, but kind of relaxed at the same time. My mind was annoyingly focused to the point where if someone talked to me or did anything to effect me it really annoyed me bcause it distracted me from what i wanted to focus on. If i was locked in a room and asked to write a thesis it would have been perfect. But i was at work in meetings... It started to stop working and I stupidly drank 2 coffees and then i was buzzing like a mofo. Agitated yet tired. And my vision went all weird. no sleep until 5am (took 200mgs at 11am) Last thing was the next day I felt like id done a kilo of coke or acid or something - fuzzy, hungover and emotionally fragile (which is unusual for me). I had to call in sick. Ive heard stories of people going into frank psychosis on it so its a weird med. Most tolerate it ok though. But for me I tolerate normal stims way better than this one.

There was a guy selling these back in 2003 or so in Australia. Ill see if I can find his detail. If I remember they were poplar or something obscure.

Agaricus species, king stropharia indoors and possibly Lepista nuda rely on the bacterial load of peat casing to stimulate fruiting. others like agrocybe aegerita are aided by casing but its not necessary. many species dont need to be and often arent
