  3. imho you'd have greater chances of succeeding in your stated goals by inventing a time machine and going back to the time of Ritter than you will have in the current era. If yer saying macrogonus is now a defunct species just how do you propose reviving it & producing "classic macrogonus seed" ??
  4. I received 2 pv plants ina trade 7-8 maybe 9 yrs ago, they were maybe 16" or so. Wintered over in my gh the first yr, they got ate up with bugs. screw that, i put em outside in morning sun where they recovered. then i put one in the ground near a conc. block wall, the other i left in its pot, maybe 5 gallons by this time. Both plants within a few feet of each other, both getting morning sun. Winter came, the one in the ground froze to death, & the one in the pot shed all its leaves and froze the tips......it recovered come springtime and eventually grew a little bit bigger than when it froze back. That winter it froze again, shed all its leaves & recovered in the summer/late fall. Two yrs ago I saw my first flowers, gawd damn they sure are tiny. The plant flowered in very late fall, then froze again over the winter, this time freezing very hard Last year after recovering it produced more flowers, but they occurred too late in the season to develop into fruits. Then winter hit and it froze again.....are you beginning to see the bigger picture here?? This year the recovery was much quicker and I saw flowers, lots of them, a whole lot earlier than before....weeks, then months passed & by golly hot damn theres berries forming!! Well now we're heading into winter and more than likely another hard freeze. I'm hoping i can harvest a bulk of the berries before it freezes or maybe figure out some kind of temporary cover. Early this spring I moved the plant to a near fully shaded area, it now gets just a few hrs of morning sun & its been in a much larger pot now for 4-5 yrs. I try to water it every 3-4 days but obviously it could stand a lot more humidity than it gets in my garden. Right beside it are smaller shipibo plants and a couple of E. novo plants. Usually the novo's freeze back and sometimes recover, sometimes not. Winters here usually means a few nights below freezing; where you see frost on the roofs or a thin lawer of ice on a small shallow body of water. I've seen ice on a pool of water on a roof 2 miles from the ocean. heres some eye candy to suck on.... notice the happy caapi vine?
  5. In your dreams lol. what will happen first is the growing tip turning upward and eventually the weight of the 90 degree bend and new vertical growth segment either breaking the stem at the first bend or pushing the second 90 bend down to the ground. The longer you wait to stake them the more they will permanently solidify in their current position.
  6. I'd say it'll flower in 6-7 days If theres a fruit in its place when you return, the bees did the pollinating for you....
  7. first pic mate, are some of those on the far right leaning way over? feel free to stake 'em upright until they get acclimated to growing in mama earth looks like a full time job just keepin the grass whacked back
  8. I reveal a lot in my videos, unfortunately you have to watch them all several times to glean all of the pertinent tips. The very best tips are in a video shot during a night time pollination session which may be upped to utube in the near future....
  9. nothing like self incrimination eh? I'm sure the fine gentlemen in the Biosecurity department reading this forum will be tickled pink with your comments....

  13. hi Zed, at some point in time in the not too distant future I plan on a very limited public (sab specific) offering of tpm x scop tpm x mystery (a few seedlings are showing signs of variegation.....) and possibly scop x tpm (depending on how many seeds the fruit yields) with the demand as high as it is for these tpm hybrids, I've more or less distributed the bulk of them to repeat cutomers, most especially to growers overseas......
  14. thats funny, i dont recall any recent orders from an Enrique sanchez.......or any order from that name ever! like I'm supposed to automatically know everyones handle/real name/shipping address/email address/paypal address/ hahahaha
  15. A word to the wise, should be sufficient. If you've placed a recent order and or are a repeat customer, and or contribute to threads in the cactus forum, most particularily the pinned threads, you may want to make some notes..... If you feel a need to ask questions, this post is not intended for you....(see word to the wise, above) Some people may want to bookmark this particular post as it will probably be quickly be buried.... 801=LJ x TPM 802=Psycho0 xTPM 803=Sharxx Blue x TPM 806=LumberJack x Sharxx Blue 807=Psycho0 x Sharxx Blue 810=LumberJack x Psycho0 147=TPM x Scopulicola 174=Peru Bonny x TPM 191=TPM x Mystery cheers mates, both nitrogen & myself love you

  17. a multitasker eh? well then I would recommend a beer in one hand and a shovel in the other.
  18. most definitely be sure to get some scop x huarazensis seeds which should be ready in a month or so...
  19. sagi- i recommend less thinking and more action
  20. I store the pollen in zip lock baggies with a packet of dessicant stapled inside; all stored on the top shelf of my fridge which keeps them at a chilly 37F. Since my plants seem to flower April-Jan, I try to use the freshest pollen I've recently collected. The secret for long term storage is 100% pure pollen with dessicant added. I've used 10 week old pollen with favorable results, (scop x tpm). https://youtu.be/i5Sb_sDu5OQ

How to get cacti flower to fruit

apple iphone 6 huh...... check out the dried fruit on the other head, its got some seeds inside....yer plant must be self fertile. twirl a tiny paint brush in the middle of the flower, brush more pollen on the pistle, maybe you can increase seed count by assisting pollination
  23. when it comes to columnar trichs, personally i think ya'll are barking up a dead tree.......
