How One Starts A New Patch

There is a clump of mycelium under the surface of my garden where I threw some semi dried subs about a month ago. Should I just leave it or should I give it water when its not raining? Also if I took a few chips and used them to colonize a small tub of chips could I fruit it in the fridge somehow? cheers.

hey mate yup they look like them I can definately see bruising in your last pic and of in the one of the prints and dried shrooms. Im not sure about the other few but they look about right just double check all your finds for that blue look and wait till somebody with lots of posts confirms the id.

I know of a place where there are huge piles of about 4 or 5 types of woodchips, they are also scattered on the ground around the piles. The woodchips have been sitting there for at least a year and about a month ago I found some kind of mushroom growing out of the side of a large pile of woodchips. Some of the piles have a mulchy smell some don't. In the depths of winter given decent rainfall could one expect any subs to appear?
