Here's a chart done by UK scientists: Kind of strange that ecstasy is less hamrful than cannabis, ketamine and LSD, but it shows alcohol up there with cocaine and amphetamine.

    Cheers, thanks for the help.
  5. Hey, I didn't know where else to put this. I just ordered some seeds of the home site and when I completed my order it didn't give me an address to send my money too, only a price? What am I supposed to do, my order still says pending, does the order have to be reveiwed before they tell me to send the money or something?

    Purchasing from the site.

I have a cash in hand job, and don't really like to take money out of my bank account, even when purchasing the groceries or something. I rarely use my credit card as I hate any sort of debt, and using it over the internet is a big no-no for after my Father's card got used by someone else after he purcahsed online. I have no idea why I would of missed the adress on the checkout screen. I certainly was looking out for it, I found it in my email though, which I hadn't read at the time. Anyway, I wanted to buy two packets of seeds, and without realizing it made two separate orders. Can the orders be combined so I don't have to pay the low-fee price twice, or even if they are combined do I still pay the low-fee price twice anyway? My orders are Order Number: 3895 & Order Number: 3897. If they could be combined thatd be great. If not, i'll be posting 15 bucks over this afternoon.

Would using bank deposit over money order make that much of a difference anyway? Truly I would rather use money order.

Yeah, I know that would be the easiest, but I don't feel comfortable giving out bank/credit card details over the internet.

My gnome did not just do an extraction on maidenii. . Can always try the 'burn test'?

    Species identification (with photos)

The first tree definitely looks like A. Maidenii, thin scalpel like phyllodes, grey fissured bark, exactly like the local A. Maidenii’s around here. Now, I have read that there is one type of A. Maidenii with the thin curved phyllodes and another with thick curved ones like you are showing me. I am assuming the thick one might be a sub-species? I dunno, but there are pictures on erowid of the thick leaved Maidenii, I have never seen it before, I'm only going on what i've been told. Anyways, good luck with your extraction. Btw, could you PM me a link to that Green Australia website?

Ahh, thanks for confirming that! I expected it to be, but it's just i'd done minimal research on the longifolia, only few photo comparisons. Many Thanks.
  13. I was looking at the a. maidenii's in my street today and noticed a few which were different from the others. These ones had much thicker trunks than the others, at first I thought it was age difference but some maidenii's which were enormously tall still had trunks much thinner than this one. I then examined the leaves and found they were slightly more obtuse than the maidenii and fairly thicker. Here are some photo's which may hopefully help you to ID it. Tree 1:

    Another Acacia ID Thread.

EDIT: For some reason when I made this post your previous post hadn't appeared. Strange. Anyways, I only made this in reply to your one saying it is confusing, not the one saying the third tree was definately longifolia. My very first post with pictures, (Tree 1) I didn't think to ba A. Maidenii because it's leaves didn't hang. My second post with pictures, (Tree 2) also didn't resemble A Maidenii because of it's leaves but it's flowers did. My third and fourth post with pictures (Tree 2), I was just getting closer photo's of the flowers and the leaves. And my fifth post (Tree 3), I thought resembled Longifolia. The trees which I think are a. maidenii's have much thinner and pointed leaves which droop down or hang. The bark is alot darked and deeply fissured. These ones have much thicker and more obtuse leaves, the bark is brighter and is lightly fissured on the trunk gradually growing smooth as it reaches where the branches come out. I am pretty sure it's planted, as it's along a roadside. But i's still in bush with lots of other trees. In this picture (Tree 3): http://img412.imageshack.us/my.php?image=tree2p2gb9.jpg The leaves resemble longifolia and the amount of flowers (unopened) along it also would too. Is there a reason why this would not be a longifolia or should I watch out for when it flowers and would be more easily IDed. The unopened flowers on this tree look alot different to the ones on tree 2, maybe because they are younger, I don't know. Also here: http://img84.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p1020118yu7.jpg You can see how the leaves appear when they sprout, much different to the way A. Maidenii leaves sprout. There are a few small detail which I can use to tell the difference between maidenii's and this one, mainly the leaves. The leaves on Maidenii's seem to droop or hang downwards and these ones stick out or upwards. I have no ideas att all to what this could be, only took a photo cause of the similar flowers.

And here is another tree I found which I am quite sure is a longifolia. it isn't flowering but has heaps of little unflowered bud things along it's stems as would a longifolia in it's flowering time and it's leaves also resemble that of the longifolia. you see it has these things unflowered things all along the stems next to the leaves and lots of them.

    A few questions.

Yeah, i'm 90% sure I can indentify acacia maidenii's now, I just want a second opinion, to make sure i'm identifying the right tree. Here are some photo's I have taken of the tree I assume is Acacia Maidenii. It fits all the descriptions, the only thing missing is the pods non of the treese have pods? Does anyone know a reason for this? It also has these werid little brown ball things growing on it, I provided a picture, I think it is some sort of fungus which grows on Acacias. Also something strange, I noticed the 'larger' maidenii's seem to have heaps of flowers yet the smalle ones have little or none at all. I am assuming older ones flower earlier or longer than the younger ones, would I be correct? Here are thos strange brown balls, disease?

Hmm, it does seem to resemble the longifolia, I will start doing some research on it. I am just skeptical of the flowers, the flowers in your photo look alot different to the ones in the second photo of tree two.

Tree 2: (The leaves on this are very strange, it is only since it had flowers exactly the same as a maidenii i took some shots) Thanks for the help!!!

    A few questions.

My pet catfish found a fairly large branch that had fallen off an a. maidenii and he brought it home. It's now in my backyard, he plans to cut off all the bark which isn't twigs or leaves. How should he store the bark once he has cut it off, so it doesn't lose alkaloid content or degrade etc?
  23. i had a little go. heh pretty crappy but sort of conveys the message of how dumb/violent alcohol is compared to illict drugs.

    A few questions.

Yeah, I have looked at the seeds for sale there, it is what led me to this forum. They are very cheap, I will have to check out the climate of which obtusifolia grows in and i may order some along with maidenii.
