I have not used Datura but I have been in a terrace house in Tassie during the mid 70's with 5 mates who drank Datura tea one afternoon, they went blind for a while which really freaked them out the strange thing is they all said they could see things going on in other rooms in the building ! Also i would suggest that reading Carlos Casteneda's first book Teachings of Don juan Yaqui way of knowledge for anyone venturing into experiments with Datura. In that book Castaneda explians in great detail the preparation and application of the datura paste Torsten mentioned earlier. I distinctly remember that Don Juan considered it absolutly crazy & very dangerous to mess with the flowers & leaves he stated that this was the path to madness believe me I have met people who went over the edge on Datura one guy I knew in the Hari Krsna's back in the 80's was really out there all the time he had got that way by ingesting Datura back in Melbourne in the late 60's his story was that after taking the datura he was imprisoned by a malevolent spirit being in a deserted shed for five days in that time he tried to escape but this spirit creature wouldn't allow hime to leave he ended up in a mental institution for a while then ended up finding sanctuary in the Hari's. All of the practices in that book in relation to Datura were through the processing of the Root and it was never ingested it was always applied as a paste to the skin, for example when it was applied to the inner thigh casteneda experienced the sensation of flying at great speed and for a long distance, who knows how true this is as there has always been controversy surrounding his books but it certainly sounds a more responsible way to use the plant than just boiling up a few flowers & saying "she'll be right". I have just recently finished a one hour documentary which is basically a presentation given by a woman called Eve Hillary check her out at www.evehillary.org and basically the agenda is that within the next 2 years all herbs, vitamins & supplements in australia will be controlled by a monster called the Codex Alumentaris out of the WHO in Brussells and everyone in Australia dealing in herbs will become in their eyes criminals !! "I SHIT YOU NOT"! this is for real and is just another brick in the wall of the NEW WORLD ORDER ! these power hungry freaks known as the Pharaceutical corporations are out to gain control of every fucking plantr on the planet because they know there oil based drugs just kill people and the game is up with too many people dying every yers from their criminal quakery, so now they want to control the only things thatr really work without side effects HERBS ! you guys are just collateral damage as far as they are concerned. the last rain just after eb4 saw just over 700 grams of dried powder harvested in three days around the hills of Lismore & ballina my bloody calf muscles ached for days,all good quality product nicely dried at low temp with a food dehydrator this is crucial if potency is to be maintained ,straight into the freezer in airtight gladdies and off to your local doof or other like minded cultural events, some harvesters have offered low quality powders this season already this only damages consumer confidence in the wild product it is probably prudent to get it right at the drying & storing stages I don't believe the shrooms change potency from year to year to a significant degree,my suspicion is that the main variable is how people process the little blighters.nobody wins selling crap powder.

I have been planting & growing bamboo from road & riverside extractions for some years now I have 2 bambusa Balcooa growing on the verge that were dug up on the banks of the Williams River in the middle of Lismore NSW a bambusa Oldhamia bought as a Rhizome attached to a cuttoff clump for $30 bucks from Nimbin it is now has a 30 ft hight single culm which has thrown heaps of leaves after one year next year I'm sure it will explode with multiple culms from the energy it has stored from it's first year these are all clumping varieties. I have some runners in planter boxes that run down one side of our property which provide privacy from the neighbours they are runners dug up from the side of the road on the outskirts of Lismore the planter boxes are well made and contain the runners this is important if you don't want to get into a legal dispute with your neighbours. Runners are bad !! all of these bamboos have grown well due to regular watering & fertilizing,you can save a lot of money by going for a drive with a chainsay & a pickaxe don't try do extract bamboo with a spade you will die of exhaustion attempting to dig them out they are tough suckers !good luck

Hi I have a number of sally plants growing in different parts of the garden under different conditions and have very little leaf curl in any of them after managing my plants for over 6 months I have come to the conclusion that sally loves water I water my plants 2 to 3 times a day. The siol is well drained and the plants are fed every 2 weeks with a variety of fertilizers such as dynamic lifter, seaweed extract & blood & bone (not all of these at once)this seems to stimulate healthy leaf growth.I have 4 healthy plants that produce around 100 grams of dried leaf every 2 weeks. It has also been my experience that the plants respond to regular picking of the mature leaxes by throwing more leaf and divet energy from growing longer stalks regularly picking the leaves stimulates more leaf production and seems to divert energy away from stem growth.conclusion? Water Water Water Feed feed feed Water water water !!

hi have tried using calea lately and have had problems getting any sort of result in the dream state have heard that a lot of tea has to be drunk & leaf smoked to get an effect i have been drinking one cup of tea and smoked a couple of small cones of ground leaf all to no avail .didn't want to drink too many cups of tea because i thought i would only wake up halfway through the night busting for a piss but if anybody has any ideas on this subject please let me know

Back in the good old days when I has some salvia plants I found that they grew best in a clay loam soil in a shady spot.they grew healthy leaves that very rarely got attacked. And they grew tall and quickly I don't think humidity has much to do with it as i used to grow them in both shaded & unshaded areas one plant the biggest and oldest used to lean up against a brick wall exposed to the hot Northern rivers Sun for half the day and as long as it's roots were well watered never had a leaf curl problem I think the plant works itself out eventually. one set of plants I used to have were grown in another sheltered spot during the summer and produced the leaf curl you mentioned they were watered every day but still had trouble growing healthy leaves then the rain hit for a couple of weeks nice & solid & bingo new growth good fresh & healthy leaves, maybe it was the Nitrogen in the rainwater who knows certainly not a pig ignorant punter like me but my suspicions are that it likes heavy soils with drainage as opposed the sandy light soils and doesn't mind a bit of shade and regular pruning to encourage new growth & new leaves.

Hi Just dropping a line about a recent experience with Mitragyna speciosa I recently took 5 leaves to see what the effects would be like as I have read a bit about it on this site. I would like to get some feedback from others who may have used the plant to see if their experience was the same as mine. I found the effects to be quite subtle nothing obvious happened except that when I drove down town 3/4 hour after chewing the leaves I was walking at a very brisk pace and seemed to get a lot done in a very short period of time. I found myself sometimes running from A to B instead of just plodding along.The effects lasted some hours the interesting thing for me was the hightened activity wasn't a manic thing but quite sober and efficient sometimes you can rush around and stuff things up but the head space was different under the infulence of Mitragyna speciosa Has anyone used a larger dose if so what are the effects.

One thing I would like to highlight is just how difficult the filmmaking process is when you are short on funds & resources and you choose to shoot a lot of your footage up the bloody Amazon far from modern facilities (i wonder how he charged the batteries for his video camera).Their film appeared to be shot on a very modest budget with travel to South America & Europe an added cost. with this in mind I think their doco was a sterling effort certainly short on some areas but very watchable & non threatening to the average punter.And how refreshing to see certain drug use portrayed as a valid & benificial activity conducted by sane balanced people as opposed to the usual mass hysteria the media loves to drum up.To me that was probably the most important message conveyed in this film. man needs and can benefit greatly from a sober relationship with power plants,who's out of balance the indigenous tribes around the planet trying to cling onto their knowledge of the natural world or the oil junkies out to kill anyone with who gets between them & their next fix.
