Hey shiva, this should help: http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_display.asp Apparently the most common is 1024x768, but its 54%. If you are creating a website that would be the resolution to base your design around (IMO). You need to decide whether to use a fixed layout or fluid (i.e. design resizes according to your screen or window size). I think the resolution question is really difficult to answer, and its only going to get worse, what with the trend towards wide screen monitors, and now affordable small screen devices. probably best to stick with 1024x768 as your basis but do a fluid design to help those with smaller screens. There are also a number of ways of using css (Cascading Style Sheets) to accommodate other devices. I wouldn't worry about using javascript, probably more trouble than its worth as far as detecting resolution is concerned.. hope that helps, Cheers, Obtuse

Well done Auxin. Tell me, What type of soil are you using? Did you water often? And can you supply i pic of your seedling? I think i might have one - but i don't know. These seem to be very difficult to germinate. I was wondering if they needed to go through a cold patch before they germinate. Glad to know you have had some luck with em. cheers, Obtuse

Hi everyone, Yep well it looks like things are definitely hotting up here in tas. I went for a walk today and found these: Its still really dry where i was today, so i think a little while longer before things get really exciting. I even found a Subaeruginosa. This is the first for the year, and growing out of some very moist leaf matter, lots of very nice mycellium. Also a pic of where i found it for the benefit of those interested in general habitat: And here is a group of lookalikes - you'd swear they were hey by looking at the caps, but the stems are a giveaway: And one more pic: Hey Re[x], thats a real pain int he bum when that happens. some people just have no respect, and no idea of the disfavour they are doing to themselves. So all you newbies don't pick the little ones hey, let em grow so they drop spores. Anyway, Cheers, Obtuse

Hi El Barto, I started a similar thread in relation to Tasmania: http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/inde...showtopic=13073 Trich-Aura has posted a list at the shroomery which is really good: http://www.shroomery.org/9130/Australia Which i'll quote here: Also i might suggest using the search engine on this site and google, I reckon you'll find what your after, just use this list a starting point and go from there. Although i know what its like scoring the web because there is heaps of info around, some of it doesn't make much sense, and some of it conflicting. Also try your local library (or uni library would be even better), and check out some of the better identification guides specific to victoria, not perfect, but if your a newbie will certainly help. reading and research are very important if your new to mycology. Anyway, it would be great to see what info you come up with. Cheers, Obtuse.

Hey Gerbil, Thats some pretty good stuff you got there. I will go ahead and create the disclaimers but do you mind if I base it on what you have written. I will have a look at the weed lists for all your respective areas and pick out the one's likely to be traded, and not for those outside your area to be aware of the lists. maybe even post a hyperlink to various lists. If anyone has a list of hyperlinks feel free to post to help me out =) cheers, Obtuse

Hi Øskorei, To answer your questions. Fantastic suggestion and i will look into it. While most plants have a link to the enthobotanical wiki, i agree a disclaimer/duty of care statement should be present on some of the seed descriptions, esp the datura's and ipomea's. You sure can donate seed without being a member. just send your spare viable seeds to the chapter/s of your choice. The only way the seedring is gonna work is by the generosity of the community. For sure. and agreed, it would be great to see some more food seed. Thanks for helping out, Cheers, Obtuse

Its been really dry here in Tas, I have been walking regularly, and there are not many mushrooms at all let alone any subs. I have found a couple of patches of mycelial growth in damp spots but in general no go. It may be a different story in higher altitudes. I still have dead patches in my lawn, which is really unusual for tassie at this time of year. The regular rains have really only just stared, so things may pick up soon, but we need some good downpours to really get things wet. The cold is there tho so it shouldn't be long. cheers, Obtuse (edit: bad spelling)

Mmmm, Lovely Rev. Good to know they last for a while. cheers, Obtuse.

I'm obvioulsy a bit of an idiot when it comes to germinating these plants. I have tried twice with no luck. How do other people do it? I tried in compost the first time. no luck I tried in cactus mix the second time. no luck. Should i try as i have done with delosperma. Any help welcome. Cheers, Obtuse.

Bugger, Gee Creach, I really hope you find someone to take over the perth chapter of the seedring mate. I agree $70 is a fair bit when you only get 5 to 10 orders a year. Heres hoping someone takes it on. Cheers, Obtuse

Sorry to hear Benzito , I have gone back to the old site and made sure that no-one else will sign up. I should have made it far more obvious that it was no longer active. Sorry My Bad. The site is now at www.australianethnobotany.com Cheers, Obtuse.

Hi everyone, It been two months since i was successful with my first couple of syrian rue seedlings. since then the other in the same pot got munched by a snail. then i had 8 more come up in other pots only to get killed by a heatwave. But this one has survived. (edit) Oh yeah thats a peters 2 litre ice cream container. just so you know the scale. It's looking fairly healthy, so i'm pretty happy. I will bring it inside for the tassie winter, but would like to move it into a better pot. Is it safe to move it now, or will moving it disturb the roots and shock it too much. If it will shock it too much, i'll just leave it in the same pot. I had another seedling pop up only a few days ago after deciding i would try and grow some more, so i'm doing something right. Anyway i will go UTSE as well, but any advice would be more than welcome. Cheers, Obtuse.

Psilocybe Alutacea... anyone have pics
obtuse replied to XipeTotec's question in Fungus Identification
Second that. Would love to have a pic of this one. Not so worried about pics of it growing wild or not, but growing wild would be preferable. Cheers, Obtuse -
Hi Trich-Aura. Hope you didn't mind me borrowing your list like that. Thanks heaps hey =) Really appreciate your putting it together as it certainly helped getting my head around what was available here in tas. Thanks also on the tip regarding Psilocybe coprophila and psilocybe echinata. One of my quests is to start getting photos of tas specimens, and photos of associated habitat as requested by others in the forum. There are a lot of people in the dark about what is actually out there and what they look like. Thanks again, Cheers, Obtuse
