I tried this without any success. I think it was accuminata on simplex. But I had no success. I only tried this once with small plants. I think they were to small. When this is done with fruit trees for example they are 2 meters tall or so. I think this is totally possible with acacia.

@ Halcyon Daze: Thanks for the explanation. I already have some Hybrid seeds from Herbalistics. But no Eileen genetics so far. I saw the offers on Misplant but the desired Hybrids seem to be quite expensive. But maybe thats the easiest way to get some. I am open for suggestions of other hybrids which might be good as well. So far I have crosses between Juuls Giant, SS02, Psycho0 and some more. As well as some seeds from Chavin and Matucana area.
@ withdrawl clinic: I read that thread too. Yes maybe the Eileen thing is more Australia related and in my area other plants do better. I read the name super pedro a lot. Maybe i should try it.
Where can I get true blue seeds?

I overwintered all my plants so far but will try to keep some of the Acacias outside next winter. Maidenii, Floribunda should be able to handle the frost. Not sure about simplex.
Where did you find thos mimosas ophthalmocentra seeds. Just started scabrella. Did your scabrella got frost?

OK lets forget about Dimitri. Lets talk about love ;). I tried to invite lots of those lovely beings into my home but not so many stayed healthy. I think Acacia simplex and and the Mimosas having a good time here in central Europe indoors in a pot so far. The newest roommate is a A. retinodes which is almost shooting up from the soil. Really fast lil fellas. I am not sure exactly why, but lost my heart mostly to the Mimosas.

This is amazing @☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ
So many beautiful plants.
When you had to choose only 5 of the mimosas and acacias which ones would it be?
I mean in regards of growability in pots and indoors. And maybe which are most promising to actually travel with Dimitri in the end?- 1

Maybe Burkitti needs some extra treatment. Will try to dry mine out a bit. I will also try a Gibberellic acid treatment.

It really depends on the type of Acacia. With all acacias I had a much bigger success rate. But you are right. I would say best time to start both might be spring so they can grow over the summer and enjoy the warmth...

I also tried starting the leptolobus in the winter indoors. In the beginning I had like 10 small plants doing very well. Some on the window sill and some under led grow lights.
After a few weeks the growth stagnated and the plants started to die back. In the end all died. The soil I used was a typical acacia mix I do mix myself with sand and normal potting soil. No fertilizing. I will give it another try in spring outside with only potting soil and a bit more fertilizing. Also bigger pots. I had a chance to look inside trouts book about the Desmanthus, but it did not help very much because there were not so many infos regarding conditions inside there...
