the best fruits ("tuna" in spanish) that i've come across are robusta, torrence and cow's tongue (engelmannii). I've heard that the absolutely best is the Burbank's eating one, its a spiny bugger - not the spineless, but i haven't yet tried it... hopefully it'll fruit this season... Also, the ficus indicus has decent fruits, huge pads, and is relatively common... but the fruits aren't in the same league as the one's i first mentioned...

##All done with these clones for now## I've got a few plants that could do with a trim, so i'll offer them here. PM for details and pics. Cuts available are SG Red Spine Fields Pach Juuls' x Scop Rob Benji Capel Super Pedro and there's a few pach monstrose and crests also, I have opuntia pads from torrence, robusta, cow's tongue, and the burbanks fruiting (not the spineless) Cheers, MG

I’ve got a huge pach monstrose up for grabs. Growing on own roots, but only has about 2 months worth of roots. $120 plus $25 for postage. First in. Payment needs to be done in 3 days or I’ll offer it to the next in line. cheers, mg p.s this plant was on eBay a month back but was never paid for, so order was cancelled...

Nice one. You’ve just got to make sure you can reach the flowers to handpollinate. They are self fertile, but don’t naturally fertilise without assistance... Im keen to see the grow! -
I would suggest tracking down the most northern varieties as they are generally regarded as the most ethnobotanically interesting. Big Bend, to my knowledge, is the most northern locality. And the northern forms are self pollinating. Also, when you say 'varieties', you mean localities of williamsii? or are you meaning species (fricii, willi. etc)? I know I have seen a detailed map on SAB somewhere years ago...

in spiritual circles, the energy field above the right shoulder is to do with the Father. One can decipher quite a lot of info from densities in the auric field above the shoulders about the relationships with parents... -
cool, that one's got good growth. I'll leave the ones i didn't degraft yet and see what happens...

Hey Glauc, any chance on some pics? I had probably a dozen lophs on huge cereus that just didn't seem to go anywhere in the last several months so i just assumed that they didn't work real well... Maybe if you have had good results I should try again... Its by far the best stock up here in the tropics. Oh, the other downside to cereus is that it is much more susceptible to scale, if it wasn't for the cereus i don't think i would see it in my gardens...
-
wow Z, 30 years on a stock. thats amazing... I really like cereus for trichos. Nothing grows faster or hardier for me. Its about 4 times the speed of trichs as stock. Downside is that i haven't had lophs grow on cereus even when the union is perfect...

thanks MG, i'll be watching your developments...

Grafting Lophophora jourdaniana var. mammilaris 18 OCT 18

mine are all emerging from skin issues, so its near impossible to tell any differences yet, but they definitely seem more nipple-y... -

yeah, i grafted mine. They had a hard life though and are just starting to look ok. I've got a double header on some huge stock, graft was done in winter and is just starting to grow. The other few i'll have to find them in the sea of grafted lophs... Seeds were from koehres. i only got 10 seeds, i think... I'll see how many are alive and kicking.... -

nice work on the v. mamm. I've got a few going from last season, plenty of strange growth, i think there'll be a few varis in there too. I'll post some pics of mine when they get a bit bigger... -
yeah pyrtheum should do the job. The plant will grow through it, but there'll be a small slow in growth rate...
-
yeah, i think its an insect getting into the new growth. does the older leaves have the same issue, or just the new growth? Try eco-neem or some other water soluble neem oil... Leave the plants in the shade for a day after applying...
