    Sage Help Needed

Many, many years ago (when growing it was still legal), I've found out through trial and error that S. divinorum can be quite sensitive to variour sprays, for example pyrethrum(!). My suggestion would be to dilute ANY insecticides even more then it's suggested on the label and, therefore, play it safe. I'd have to agree with Torsten and say that S. divinorum can survive without leaves for some time without a major detrimental effect to the plant(as long as the root system is healthy). Cut back on waterring, keep in shade.. Oh, yes and do not use a fly spray ever again on any of you plants, unless you want to use it as a herbicide...

    catha seeds

Hi All, I've got some Catha seeds which I would like to exchange for Sceletium seeds or Panaeolus/cubensis print. Those seeds were collected last Summer and should still be viable. Cheers Phalenopsis

    subaeruginosa indoor cultivation

Good effort isn't it? I've been doing exactly the same thing with a slight variation). I've been using plastic trays, the ones they use in plant nurseries. After many, many trials I decided to fill one of those trays with sphagnum moss(half way) which keeps misture up. Then I put another tray on the top of the sphagnum and fill it with cardboard, woodchips and collected mycelium, and cover with the third tray to create microclimate and stabilize RH. seems to be working fine. Every now and then I stir the content of the mycelium-holding tray, mixing in some more woodchips(Strophariaceae like disturbance anyway...). So far I can not boast about fruiting any of my trays, but I'm possitive I'll suceed sooner or later. Once the wood has been fully collonised I'll try casing with vermiculite. I've had a very possitive experience with this product when used for casing other woodloving species. Should be fun. Cheers.

    woodloving species help needed

My experience is that any mushroom I've tried to transfer and kept on cardboard for more than 2 days would have colonised it readily. I use corrugated cardboard(most common anyway). thicker cardboards(non-corrugated) have more glue it them and get 'slimy'. I also tried in my earlier atempts to germinate spores on cardboard and never succeeded. I even tried to saturate the cardboard with straw and wood tea. Bluemeanie, thanks for your input. Pinewood shavings? sounds good as I have plenty. Colonisation is a bit slow though...Good to use for spawning. Regards

    woodloving species help needed

i've been playing with some woodloving species(most likely subaeruginosa)with some results. colonisation's usually slow, although occasionally I manage to find a more agressive mycelium. my problem is finding a suitable sawdust/woodchips. I've tried fresh wood of usual species i.e. beech, cammelia, alnus. I usually put it through the steamer to get rid of the most of the nasties. Few days later I usually find the wood chips 'sweaty' and sticky. I think it's bacteria. I haven't had any luck with straw(too wet?) they don't seem to like it much. They all enjoy cardboard and grow quite strongly on it, but as soon as I transfer them onto wood things slow down, and the mycelium doesn't seem to be doing much. Any suggestions? Any sources of reliable wood products(i.e. sawdust) you people might know of? Thanks

    Spore prints available

Hi I work for RBG Melbourne. I'd be very interested in getting some of your edible species(preferably spawn or cultures) for one of our projects. I need more detals though. Could trade some plant material(i.e. fresh, very viable Catha seeds etc). If it's ok I'll send you my e-mail address(work)next week. regards
