I'm pretty sure that's still the ocean mate hahah. I think you may be underestimating the irrationality of phobia
-
Mate I would absolutely love to, if I didn't have a heart attack inducing phobia of being in/on the open waters! Yes it is slightly embarrassing haha. I know I'm probably missing out. We might have to sort a camp out or something after if peeps are keen?
-
Sorry big red, as I thought no one was keen I have made other plans. We need to commit to the next meet guys! Would love to Catch up with you all
-
I'm taking that as a no haha

So who is still on board for tomorrow? Is there still interest?

anyone got any idea what I'm dealing with on this Macro? comparing this to a picture i took several months ago, the markings seem to be spreading. I find it odd though that none of this has spread to the pup on top, it seems immaculate? cheers, Schoey

marking/corking on macrogonus
GorrilaGardener replied to GorrilaGardener's topic in Cacti & Succulents
That's good to know that it doesn't seem to effect other plants zelly, I just noticed another peruvianus 'john' of mine has one or two tiny spots like this also. Maybe it is a peruvianus trait? makes sense quixote, the reason I had to cut the top of the macro was due to sunburn then rot seemed to set in. I find it odd that the current markings haven't progressed to the extent that the top did though? -

Acacia courtii propagation from cuttings
GorrilaGardener replied to ferret's topic in Australian Native Plants
Cheers Benno! Some very good points made. I currently have mine in 20L pots and the tallest is about 5 foot from top of pot to top of main stem... Have I left it too long? -
Acacia courtii propagation from cuttings
GorrilaGardener replied to ferret's topic in Australian Native Plants
I water my Courtii with water out of one of our IBC's used as an outdoor fish tank, My house mate tells me its high in nitrogen. I was under the impression that nitrogen is good for growth? either way the point i am getting to is that my babies seem to love it? I am also using Osmocote Native soil mix. ill post some pics shortly. Quick question for the folks here that are experienced with Acacia cultivation. At what stage of growth would you say is optimal to transplant from pot to the earth? I would imagine there is a point where it has been in too long and may suffer as a result? cheers -
Advice on seed propagation through winter S E Qld
GorrilaGardener posted a topic in Cacti & Succulents
Hey guys, was as just wondering if one of you could give me advice as to wether or not it is a good idea to plant cacti seeds coming into winter in S.E Qld, trichocereus mainly, also some echinocactus grusonii. I would tend to think it's not usually the best idea with the low temps and sunlight, though we don't really cop much of a winter here so hoping I may get away with it. In reality I'm just impatient and don't want to wait another 3 months cheers, Schoey -
Wow! having only just started to play around with grafting, i can't believe how much growth those put on only after 2 weeks, is growth normally this rapid when it comes to grafts?

Advice on seed propagation through winter S E Qld
GorrilaGardener replied to GorrilaGardener's topic in Cacti & Succulents
Cheers Psyentist exactly what I wanted to hear! I'm also propagating outside under the patio, but am hoping I can get away with not using a heat matt. Do you find its a necessity, or do you just use it as a precaution? -
