  4. Hello all, For those not aware yet, I am attempting to start a quarterly print publication on the botany, cultivation, history, and usage of medicinal and entheogenic plants. I am crowd-funding the operation through Kickstarter and need some help doing it. If you arent familiar with kickstarter it is a website where you submit projects that you need funding for. People pledge different amounts to try and help you meet your goal. No one pays anything unless the funding goal is met ($5k in my case) and it wont be charged until the end of my project (Feb 16th). Those pledging to the project will receive rewards, like copies of the magazine, a 'thank you' in the magazine, ad space, ... For more info check out: http://www.kickstart.../crudd/dragibus I have already hit up a few people to contribute articles, but if anyone else has anything they would like to contribute or possible article ideas, feel free to post here or pm. I would love an article and(/or) photos of EGA, if anyone who went would be interested in contributing. Also, any other ideas, critiques, suggestions, ... are greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone and I hope we can make this happen, himdumb

georgia town makes gun ownership mandatory

I saw this on the news last night. It is not the first Georgia city to do so. There is another town in Georgia, Kennesaw, which has had an equivalent law since 1982. Even with 'everyone' not owning a gun, just knowing that a majority of people have guns prevents crime, or at least makes people think twice. From wikipedia: We will see if the same holds true for Nelson, Ga...

  16. Hello everyone. The second issue of Dragibus is available now! The second issue features an article on sustainable lophophora cultivation, more herbal brewing, an interview with a Khat farmer and more... I have sent a box load of magazines to Torsten and he should be getting it in a week or so. I encourage the Australian members to order from him to save on the cost of shipping overseas. This issue is a bit thicker than the last issue and cost $5+ to ship a copy internationally. Also, we are gathering content for the next issue and are seeking article contributions. We consider focused subjects that fall within the general range of medicinal, ethnobotanical, and entheogenic interests, such as: medicinal usage of entheogens, cultivation of rare or difficult species, book reviews, entheogen inspired art, and more. Thanks, himdumb

    Crowdsourced Corroborree Cacti Book

The images from a website will not be high quality when printed. Images uploaded to websites are stored at 72dpi and high quality print images are at 300dpi. You would need the original images (or at least copies of the original images in 300dpi or greater). They are also stored in different formats, RGB for computer images CMYK for print, but i think those are easily converted. But you cannot take a 72dpi image and make it into a 300dpi image. I would love to see more high color/quality images in print, but printing a webpage will not give you the quality you would want.
  21. Hello Everyone, We are going forward with the magazine and the first issue will be available June 1st, 2012. We have opened up pre-order on the website for the first issue (and year subscription). You can pre-order you copy or stay up to date with the project on our website at: http://dragibusmag.com Thanks again to everyone for their support. I would not have followed through with the magazine if it hadnt been for the support and interest that we have received from everyone. himdumb Dragibus Magazine
  22. Hello All, Unfortunately, we did not meet our funding goal in time. I think if we had a few more weeks we could have made it. We have received a lot of positive feedback and interest in the magazine. So, we are going to find other means of funding the magazine. I will post back in a few days with more details. Thanks to all are supporters and everyone who helped spread the word! himdumb
  23. Hello everyone, We are at 25% of our funding goal, and have 2 weeks left. We have added a few more rewards and article details to the kickstarter page (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/crudd/dragibus). We have also made a sample of the digital version of the magazine, to give a idea of what the magazine will look like. The article titles and images used will most likely not be the final one used in the first issue and are just there to give an idea of the layout. You can check it out on our webpage at: http://dragibusmag.com Thanks to all our supporters and I hope we can make this happen, himdumb
  24. Hey Everyone, Thanks for all the support and positive feed back that we have received. We have about 3 weeks left to make our funding goal and have made a recent update with more information about some of the articles we have planned for the first issue. You can see the whole update at: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/crudd/dragibus/posts but heres the important parts: We still have a long way to go to make our funding goal and any help spreading the word about the project is greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone is interested in contributing anything we have some submission guidelines up at: http://www.dragibusmag.com/?a=submission Thanks, himdumb
