I can certainly see your points there RC. Especially with taking care of the Mycellium. I tend to disagree a little about how many you take from a patch though. Once the cap has opened I am of the opinion that it would have dropped enough spores to keep the cycle alive. Damaging Mycellium is much more destructive in my opinion. Although I am no expert and can't offer any tangible evidence. In regard to Leo. If they want to go through all the rigmarole of finding out who I am, getting a warrant and conducting a search and seizure over the five grams of dried mushroom I have on me at any given time. I say good luck to them. The act of picking illegal mushrooms is a much more dangerous activity then posting pictures of your finds (as long as you take some basic steps like removing meta data!). Again though this is just my opinion and i am a let the chips fall where they may kind of guy. Its no problem didgeridooin, I'm happy to help in any small way I can.

You want paddocks where cows have been grazing in the past. The pats need a chance to dry out and there has to be fairly long grass or tufts of long grass. Go after some good rain and be persistent you will find them. I first went picking seven years ago, the first time I ever found anything was in March last year and now I see them everywhere. I don't know the area but after having a quick look on google maps, I would start somewhere like this. I've found Pans love shady area's as well, which is good because cows love to camp under large trees. https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-17.8820006,145.7396801,3a,75y,49.85h,72.31t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s7XtfEA7NWHorHchZubKV4A!2e0 This is where I was today. If you notice the old stock yard. This is prime mushroom landscape. They were literally 2 meters in from the fence. There were a bunch in the paddock over the bridge too. https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-27.4151771,152.4565175,3a,79.6y,84.56h,64.4t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sugeZd19LV_q_yvX4i-mZZA!2e0 https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-27.4131918,152.458329,3a,47.1y,138.08h,82.15t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s37vyjm66TQKeEAYsGuM7gQ!2e0 td

Not after they are dried out RC. There have been sooo many, its making wonder why I had so much trouble finding them in previous years. Atkinson is probably the best dam around to swim in. The entire area is river sand. I hate swimming in mud holes.

First day back at work and I'm seeing heaps of Pans. I'm not even checking the entire field. Only the immediate area I'm working in. Around Atkinson Dam, for anyone in the area. iatd

Went out again today, it's probably the last time i'll go out for a while. All the mushrooms I picked in the last three days, I got without even entering a private property. In area's where there is little traffic, farmers will let their cows out to graze beside the roads. It's a good little tip to remember if you don't want any confrontations. I only had two locals stop. One wanted to trade some RID for mushrooms (???) and the other thought I had broken down and was seeing if i needed any help. Cubes on the left, Pans on the right. The cubes were the second flush from the same cow pat I found the last monster Cube. I must say it was nice to see some clean Cubes after so many dirty looking Pans. td

Cheers RC, I'm usually pretty certain. I still get that dreaded nagging feeling sometimes though. td

Big cap that's for sure, 60+ gram mushroom. For some reason in low light conditions my smart phone camera goes purple. I took my DSLR out yesterday. td

I'd say the two on the right are Pans. But I can't identify Meanies confidently myself yet. If you don't mind GiBBz, I'll chuck these here. i need them Identified too. Although I'm pretty certain they are Pans. td

I just found a really good spot near the Cunningham Highway. Went for a look on Friday, plenty of shrooms around. Just no cubes yet. I'll be back there after the next good downpour. iatd

    Too Fucking Hot!!!

Dreamwalker & Thunderldeal. Just in the interest of correctness. What you guys are talking about is a Grand Solar Minimum. The Maunder Minimum is the name given to the last Grand Solar Minimum that happened between 1645 and 1715 that did indeed plunge the Earth into a mini Ice Age. Not trying to be a smart arse or anything, just FYI. iatd
