What did you do to your cacti today?

Yeah, it's not really all that bad, I know that most often, cuts are the nesesary means to a desired result. Maybe this will help me get over the no cut slump I've been in for the past couple years. I have a ton of PC pach stock now, time to sharpen the blade and start chopping the tips off my prized collumns. Its about time. Going on vacation for to weeks, anything that doesn't want cut needs to run and hide.

Anyone else get anxious and little bit sad when they cut the cacti? Well this had to be done, it will take a couple years for this guy to recover its stature but now I have so much more. I also have a new pup forming on terminated tip my T. Puquensis End it looks like JS 350 may be getting ready to do the same. About time, this is set like this for two years now.

What did you do to your cacti today?

They get about 2 hours direct per day. No worries, just gradually getting them to full sun. Some coming out of hybernation , others wintered under shade cloth. That bridgesii has lived forever in a hothouse. Planning full sun buy may 1.

What did you do to your cacti today?

Indian Comb Cactus.Trichocereus brevispinulosus. Here's a little bit better shot of what I have available for trade. And I went ahead and cut the pups off of the rooted sections for ease of shipping, and/or planting out. Definitely a cool looking plant.

  19. Thanks for the input EG, The next time I have a chance to see the rest of my collection I will try to snap photos of what things have done over the last year.
  20. So i have picked up a handful of what are labeled as tersecii seedlings over the past few years. I can't help but notice the variability. So i would just like to see what variety other folks have. Anxious to see how the seeds i have come along.
  21. EG, I would have to agree with you that due to the clustering of pups around the base, T. candicans would be indicated. I however have a couple reservations against jumping to the conclusion that this is a straight candicans plant. 1. Spination and Ariola spacing is more consistent with tall Terscheckii specimens I've seen as opposed to what I've seen as the common candicans which I've seen in cultivation here in the desert southwest. 2. The plant came from a whole highly variable group of seedlings Labeled as T. terscheckii from a vendor of which I have seen their mother plants, both of which flower in the same greenhouse. This makes me believe that it's highly likely that the seed batch is hybridize due to open pollination.

Doublebenno, thanks for the look, getting ready to pull a couple scions off of it, one for the tall pachanoi, and the other for the Mexican fencepost. Running low these days on options for grafting Stock. I'll post up my progress, looking forward to getting the ball back rolling again.

What did you do to your cacti today?

Thankfully my mom is babysitting the majority of my collection while the family and I travel and live in apartment. The small portion that I am carrying with us, went outdoors today, night temps being in the 50s. Also picked up my first T. taquierensis down the street, cool.
  24. So this guy has got me confused starting to throw pups around the base, it's got me wondering whether or not it might be a candicans x, Thoughts?
