2 weeks? If the Oberon sub camp crew are on this island they'll be lucky to make it through 2 days!

Oh yeah, can I change my animal to a sonoran desert toad?

Flowering time is a good place to start. Obtusifolia flower early summer, floris in spring, maidenii can be anywhere from summer right up to now- the maidenii near me still have occasional flowers on them. Longifolia should be starting to flower now.

Well, I must say I'm disappointed. This thread has been going for more than 24 hours and nobody's bringing a whipped cream cannister to the island?

A mongoose would be cool in case there are any cobras lurking about.

It ain't floribunda either, I was thinking more along the lines of a longifolia variety if it's flowering now, but I'm no expert.

In all seriousness though, it would be entrapment if you were busted. More likely for the seller to be in hot water I would think.

Not obtusifolia.

I love a good tangent.

Probably a sting operation.
You buy the stuff, they give you a week or so then turn up on your doorstep to try to catch you "in flagrante alchemica"...

I had a plumber over a few months ago, and he was very interested in my cacti in the back yard. He said he was a collector too, but what worried me was a comment he made before he left. He said something like "if any of them get stolen I suppose you'll think it was me". U mean ffs, who says something like that?
I always make a show of having padlocks on all my gates whenever someone I don't know comes to my house, and I mention what a close knit bunch of neighbours I have, and how a cop lives next door.
And yeah, I don't tell anyone that my cacti are anything but common varieties available at bunnings for five bucks.

If you had to pick just one kitchen implement you couldn't live without, what would it be, and why?
For me, it's a hefty razor sharp cleaver. I love the weight of it, the balance, good for slicing, chopping, smashing, cracking, flattening...and if anyone uninvited comes a calling, it'll be what I reach for first.

I read rick strassman's "the spirit molecule" and it seemed like someone writing a book to justify their own preconceived notions.

I'd go easy on the charcoal dust, they generally like acidic soil. pH 5 around my area where obtusifolia occur naturally, when they grow in soil at all. Some of them seem to just spring out of cracks in the solid sandstone.

Eden would be metaphysically appropriate.
